FFS. How many times do we have to revisit that one? I mean if you can't snort some of Colombia's finest off of one of Czech's finest asses, what in the world can ya do anymore???
-
It's Willa's fault.

I could post 3 million different things as I go with this thread. Just more pops into my head, but he is playing to an even bigger contract down the road, 2nd line type minutes, and possibly a future Assistant Captain. His development has been the most fun to watch of any Wing I can remember.
-
That is actually the best way to put it.
-
Nah, you know what? I actually do blame Hudler.
-
Love #43!!! Dude is a bonafide stud. His game, as we have mentioned a lot, has really taken off. Can only see him getting stronger, and the hands getting even better. 20-25 goals is not impossible for this kid by any means at all.

I blame Canada.

Datsyuk, Franzen, Hudler & Bertuzzi likely will not play

Look out everyone!!! -
I know but, man, how awesome would this be living in an NHL 11 world? Truly, I hope what BruiseBros presented can happen as the grit/tough guy is necessary as much as that debate goes on for many hours and months and all that. It's just an all too familiar thing we seem to want but never address. I just don't want to get my hopes up on any of them guys and also want to realize as they can all skate well and are talented, I just don't see their use. A Lombardi type player is something I'd love to see on our squad as well.

Rhymes or Worth will get it. Worth's hitting has improved and defensively, Leyland likes him better than the other 2. Wouldn't be out of the realm to see him make the opening day start at 2nd either. We might have to deal one of these young outfielders that we have, though. Derks, Boesch, and Wells all look to be primed to make the big club and hopefully make some noise.

You had those pipe dreams last offseason too. I don't want to be the one to break it to you, but I truly cannot see the Wings pursuing these players. Furthermore, I would much rather we conserve as much cap space and throw a truck load Shea Weber's way. I realize that might be even more of a pipe dream than the names you have presented but it's a franchise changing type move that will make this fanbase overjoyed. There is a strange link between the Wings and Weber. I wonder if this could happen.....

Exactly. Probably the only one that makes all of us happy I am sure. I can't really see him coming back next year even though the past few games he really seems to have hit his stride with Flip. We shall see, but I'd like to have Eaves back (main priority imo), Drapes can also come back seeing as he is a useful depth guy to have and great locker room presence, and Mursak comes up full time. Miller is out and most likely so is Mikey.

I mean, really? We know Hudler is getting his strength and all that back from losing 7 pounds or whatever but WTF is going on with Pav and Mule? It is close to playoffs and that is more important but its going to be a herculean effort to get a W out of this one. Here is hoping..... -
We always look for "the turning point". Hopefully this was it and being in attendance for it, I can't remember the last time the Joe rocked like that. It was very impressive and loved that Modano netted the GTG. Flips seems to be getting it in gear at the perfect time and hopefully this resting period for Pav, Mule, and Huds benefits for the long haul. I can't say I feel the same as the OP but last night's game certainly was important.

Top row, 4th one over. And yeah, that video with the Jose Cuervo thing is pretty funny, but he is a gimmick of a commentator.

I actually said the exact same thing to my pops last night. He looked like Datsyuk-lite out there. Don't want to go too overboard and say "I told you so" but look on page 2 of the GDT. I CALLED IT! Felt a big game on the horizon from him. Just amazing to see just how strong he is in the corners and on the puck some time. If we can see this more on a consistent basis, maybe he can reach this potential everyone in here would love to see him get to. Keep it up Flips!!!
-
You aren't being a "realist", you just sound foolish unfortunately. Panic buttons are all the rage. They looked bad, but salvaged a pretty great point last night no matter what you want to say. Not sure how you gathered this notion of the 5-6 seed thing though. No way will we lose the division.
-
Too true. Happens to every goal that comes through here though. It's not going to change anytime soon. Even if (big if) Jimmy makes every save all the time and lets the occasional goal in, people on these boards, in the arena, or anywhere else will bash him for it. What have you done for me lately? is mantra around here. Won't ever change and I can't say I blame anyone for that mentality.

Was at the game last night and wasn't able to gather any rational thoughts when I got home... I'll let you figure that one out. But horrific start to a game which we have seen all too often lately. The middle of the 2nd to the 3rd was some of their best brand of hockey and lucky to see the Penguins become undisciplined with a big lead, yet again. Flips and Modano were playing out of their minds last night. Flip was probably the best player on the ice the 2nd half of this game. Even aside from the goal, Modo was making plays, skating hard, and throwing some weight. Helm was being Helm and even a great game for Abby. We have to look at this game as nothing but a positive because of the circumstances and it being a comeback scenario. Hope the momentum carries over and we can get a player or 2 back for the tilt against Vancouver.

If he is still in the game, then that is a disgrace in itself, but....
-
Poor showing. Not much else to say here really. Figure. it. out.

^^^ Gnarly.... I don't remember this so with the slow motion and how you explained it, I half expected to see the skate fling up into his face. That was a brutal play.
