Fear not. Do not join the chicken littles. We have played brutal and have looked damn lost. But we sit at #2 in the West and I really think these guys need something like this to light the fire. It's all wishing and hoping but I have faith in Babs to get these guys hungry again.

It's called being spoiled. For the bulk of the crowd they have seen just consistent winning hockey and haven't had to sit there and be overly loud. After the streak was broken back in '97 and the passionate "Win it for Vladdy" moment of '98, the crowds of the Joe have been tamed. Just watch game tape of any of the games in those seasons, though. Just unreal how loud the Joe used to get back then.

Not really a tour per se but definitely a great way to view both sides of the river. I do highly recommend if you plan on coming here. Usually provides some great scenic stuff. Really surprised people are suggesting the parking at the Cobo roof and all that. Nemo's is the best. I repeat myself a lot I just don't want people to get dooped into dealing with all that post-game traffic. Nemo's is a shuttle service that just plows through traffic and takes you back to the bar after. But, hey what do I know? lol

Not a super feeling about this one but how can there be lately? Can only hope that the practice yesterday and their morning skates with Babs is more than enough to get them in gear. Wings pull this one out. 3-2 (Homer, Pav, Clears)

Those are probably the 2 most expensive games ,especially the Leafs, being the amount of Canadians it brings to the game and they just don't play too often anymore. I mean ebay and stubhub are probably where you want to look but good luck trying to get them at any type of cheap. Not sure about accommodations, but some of the suburbs like Rochester or Royal Oak would be a good choice. Downtown hotels for the most part are just a no lol. It's just not my preference anyway. I think the little towns are cool too because some of them you can head back to the hotel and then out to a pub or something and hang with some fans. While you are here, though I would suggest going to Hart Plaza and maybe even seeing about getting a dinner reservation for the "Detroit Princess". Probably the best way to get a great view of the skyline plus they take a trip by the Canada border at Windsor. Also, taking a trip across the bridge is always a good time too. Caesar's Palace is a blast and they usually have someone performing there. MGM Grand and Greektown Casinos are something I can tell you won't be disappointed with. End of March the weather SHOULD be getting better so I would think that walking around Monroe St. that time of year with all the good eats and bars is a guaranteed hit for ya. Nemo's bar is a staple for games. They shuttle you to and from games and it's a pretty cool hang out spot I think. Great burger, just about every beer you could imagine, and wait staff is quick. Just some of my 2 cents about it all but hope you find some of this helpful and you have a great time at either game!

I have been trying to "be real". I think "CALM THE F DOWN! Wings will flip the try switch come April!!!!" thing gets a bit overdone. They have serious issues and I am confident things will get better but ffs this has been brutal.

It's funny because a guy in the seat behind me last night was just appalled that someone even suggested that. He went on to say the Wings will get it going playoff time like they always do yada yada. I truly think this fan base is the most coddled and blind to just about any type of bad happenings. I mean this type of play this year, at times, has been just repulsive and totally anti-Red Wings. I want to hope you are wrong with this but right now I cannot feel any differently either.
