I would see no surprise in seeing Larsson getting picked up first pick. If a team with the first pick, (Edmonton, or NY Isles) needs defense, then he's the pick to get.

I feel that he has potential to be a top pick, but will not be ranked as such. My prediction is top 5, top 10 at worst. if the wings trade up picks, because let's be honest the are gonna do way to well to get a pick that good, then they will have more use for a potential all star defenseman in the years to come than a couple decent players in Grand Rapids who will most likely only see a few reps up in the bigs. With the great development program that the wings can offer, I see only positives with picking up a kid who I see shades of Lidstrom from.

The wings prospects definitely have major potential. Someone that looks out of reach but would be perfect on the wings, Adam Larsson. 6' 3" 202lbs and just turned 18, 3 days ago. I have seen 2 on 1 plays against this kid; he can keep the puck away from the net.

Okay this one's a longshot but could still happen if Holland can be convincing: Franzen-Zetterberg-Hudler Frolov-Datsyuk-Zherdev/Afinogenov Abdelkader-Eaves-Holmstrom Miller-Ritola-Helm Lidstrom-Rafalski Any combo of A. Markov/Gonchar/Volchenkov Kronwall-Ericcson I know this sounds ridiculous but it could actually work, but players like bertuzzi, cleary, filp, stuart, lilja, and lebda would have to go.
