side note, Trailer Park Boys is the best s*** ever, on that avatar

that looks great! it's probably better off that you ended up getting other players sigs at hockeyfest, because you definitely ended up with a top notch quality lidstrom sig for your jersey. his hockeyfest signature's were still nice, but a bit rushed looking, probably to accommodate as many fans as possible. they always take their time with private signings. plus i know when he private signs for dc sports, they actually bring everything to nicks house and he signs there. there's a good chance this was signed in his house

Chinese bootleggers started selling Montreal Canadiens versions of this exact design about a month ago. It makes me wonder if someone involved with the NHL leaks them info.

HOLY f***KK, R.I.P. :[ sorry for the profanity, but I remember hearing about him on CBC last season, He had probably one of the best red wings themed room's I've ever seen. It's a shame he never got to see his hometown Jet's come back for a home game. Wings were his favorite team though, and he got to go to games down in Minnesota and meet the guys a lot, and games here at JLA. There's some more video's about him on youtube, but here's one of the best. sorry its not embedded, but it's worth the click:

someone make this emoticon with a red afro asap.

If its not actually dirty and just a little wrinkly, i'd just throw it in a dryer on a low setting and see if that takes care of it. You can also iron it. I've done this before on a couple used jersey's I got on ebay that the numbers weren't very crisp on. Also you can take it to a dry cleaner's, but I'd try the dryer/iron before you spend money on a dry cleaner.

From people I talked to at hockeyfest and the post's here, it seems like everyone there for autographs did pretty well. I was on ice level checking things out for maybe a half hour, but I've seen and done most of those things at past hockeyfest's and at the Motor City Casino soundboard game viewing parties. I went there with the main goal of getting Dino Ciccarelli on my Hall of Fame stick I've been collecting signatures on since 98'. Everything aside from that would be a bonus, and Just getting Dino on the stick would have made my day. He was gonna start signing at 11:30. the line outside for 9 dollar game tickets was around 2 hours long at 10am, so I didnt mess with that and went straight to the alumni table when doors opened. Nick Libett was signing along with Dino, but Dino was running about 20 minutes late, so most of the people waiting just decided to leave. I ended up being one of the first few in line and got my stick signed on the blade, and went back in line again and got pucks signed because the line was literally only about 20 people deep. Then I went into the Ian White line which had about 20 people in it, got him on a puck, and Bertuzzi came to the table to sign right after that. I went back into the line which still only had a handful of people, and got Bertuzzi on an 8x10 that I brought on the off chance I would be in his line. Then I went back into the Bertuzzi line because almost nobody was there yet and I got my Hockeytown poster signed. Eventually his line was pretty packed. i was intensely hungover and running on 4 hours of sleep and thought about just leaving, but I got some coffee and a soft pretzel and soldiered on. I ended up with the following: Dino is on the blade, and other signatures already on the shaft are: Ted Lindsay Henri Richard Johnny Bower Alex Delvecchio Eddie Giacomin Yvan Cournoyer Bobby Hull Bill Gadsby Hockeytown Poster: Current Players- Todd Bertuzzi Ian White Alumni: Brent Fedyk Dennis Hextal Manny Legace Nick Libett Eddie Mio Jason Wooley Pucks: (2) Dino Ciccarelli w/ Hall of Fame inscription Current Players: Johan Franzen Mike Commodore Niklas Kronwall Jimmy Howard Jakub Kindl Jan Mursak Ian White Cards: Manny Legace Ty Conklin My mom came with, and got all of the players we got sigs from on a blank jersey she has: Definitely good times, and the lines for autographs were way more organized than past hockeyfests.

Definitely black. I've never seen a number signed in red, but I don't imagine it holding up over time as well as black would, and Jersey's i've seen signed are almost always in black. Good luck with the Lidstrom auto though! If you don't end up getting him, he usually does public in store signings a couple times a year for around 40 bucks, which is worth it considering you're getting a jersey signed. He's also probably not leaving Detroit any time soon, so you've got some time if it doesn't happen today.

There's a lot directly across from the west side of the arena that will be open for tomorrow. If you get there early you should definitely be good with parking there. Alternately, there's lots of free parking along Fort St. and elsewhere. The lot on the west side of JLA is only gonna be 5 bucks and is literally right across the street. I'd go that route if its not full when you get down there. And don't pay the 10 dollars independent lots will probably be asking, there's gonna be plenty of safe free street parking in the AM.

to add to Q's 4 and 5: 4. For the autographs, does each player have an individual line or do all of the players for a time frame just sit at one table and you just move down the line and get everyone's signature? - It's going to be set up with multiple tables, and either 1 or 2 players at each table and signing for anywhere between 1-2 hours each. I'm bringing puck's and a silver pen because you don't know who will be at the table when you get there. (except for the alumni table) 5. Will the souvineer stands be open to purchase items to have signed on top of what I bring with Yes. http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=72586

Not final. These are just the players confirmed thus far. There's also going to be alumni autograph/appearances, and that list has yet to be announced. I'm pumpedddd. I wanna meet Bertuzzi most out of the bunch listed so far, because he usually only does private signing's so I've never met him. I got his sig on a puck and 8x10 via a DC Sports private signing last season, but if I end up in his line, I'll be extra pumped.

I got this back in 1998 at a signing, definitely 1943 on this one. I cant find the same picture online anywhere though.

I'm thinking fan made.

I'm no pro, but I really dont think seed number matters as much as alot of people think when it comes down to it. especially after the first round has been battled through with whatever the remaining 4 teams are. Even if the top 2 seeds still exist in round 2 (still 1-0 nucks 7 mins left), it doesnt mean s*** as far as the wings ability to beat them in a series. Lots of people were stunned that an 8th place Chicago beat a Presidents Trophy Vancouver for 3 straight, but Chicago was definitely more than an 8th place team from the start, and i didnt expect it to go 3-0 Vancouver in the first place. We'll see what goes down, but I just wouldnt throw seed numbers as a base of who should win what. I'd say a 3rd place team is as likely to win the conference as a 1st place of 4th place team depending on the scenario And honestly I'm watching the game intensely at the moment and didnt read the entire initial post so sorry if I missed anything

Awesome Modano quote regarding a recent visit with war veterans
Detroit40oz posted a topic in General
"It was great to see those guys," Modano said. "A lot of them were part of World War I, World War II, Vietnam; I mean these are guys who put their lives on the line for us and for our freedom. They sacrificed to give us what w have today in this country, so it was great to meet them and shake their hands." http://redwings.nhl....vid=DL|DET|home (2nd news piece) -

Well yeah for sure, i'd like to get alot of those old games in digital form too. Whats available in the nhl vault is awesome, but digital would be nice. I've been meaning to transfer some of my old tapes to digital for awhile but have yet to get the hardware to do it. I'll go through everything I have and make a list if you're interested. I was pretty good about not taping 2 games to a blank tape, but i think a few of the early round playoff games are two to a tape, which might make for s*** quality.
-
are you looking for VHS tapes? i've got about 40 vhs tapes me and my mom recorded of games through 96-99. mostly all PASS sports and UPN50 broadcasts.
-
both are way better than i could afford, haha. it really all comes down to whether you wanna be close to the action, or way up in the rafters but have all kinds of perks. also i guess it depends on what games are available for either one. and the legends club is more of a unique experience, while its not hard to get 10th row tickets for around 100 bucks each. i'd just do the legends club.
-
that might mean the "legends club" which is located up in the suite area. depending on what else 13,000 points could be worth, it could very well be legends club tickets, which is pretty awesome. they're something like $175 each. http://redwings.nhl.com/club/page.htm?bcid=30460

@zombi, I just noticed you're from dearborn heights. last time I was at the value world thrift store on evergreen and ann arbor trail, they had two copies of the 96-97 stanley cup VHS, the exact thing you're looking for, except in outdated formats there was also a copy at the DAV thrift store on middlebelt just north of warren not too long ago. they're a buck each at both locations. last time i was at the DAV they had a bunch of don cherry vhs tapes too. you can find both the 97 and 98 stanley cup videos on vhs at most thrift stores in the detroit area for like a dollar each.

I have an yzerman away jersey (away jersey at the time, so red) signed on the 9 on the back from 1996. it was signed in black sharpie and hasnt faded or "yellowed" or anything like that. its been in a closet the majority of the time though. i think white numbers signed in blue look awesome though. you really cant go wrong with a blue or black sharpie if its on a white number, but id probably go black if i were getting it signed. if you have a white jersey with a red number, i would definitely strictly use black. ive seen alot of red numbers signed in silver that looked really nice, and i tried for it last summer on a chelios jersey and it came out kinda light and not too bold. its nothing id ever sell, so its still fine with me, but kind of a bummer. i'd also probably bring my own sharpies to the meijer thing. when they do signings, the whole line pretty much gets the same pen used on everything. a black sharpie. id definitely bring one you know for sure is gonna be fresh. they have no problem with it either, i brought my own silver pen to get eaves on a puck sunday at meijers in northville.
