To be fair, he is absolutely right about that. You can just tell by watching the first period, all perimeter shots and no one driving the net besides the kids. They need to play like they care, which they haven't for a couple years until they had to (see last year's final 6 games and the playoffs).

This team needs to get rid of Cleary, Quincey, Sammy, and Miller. This team need's most to get a top 4 d-men that is capable of contributing offensively while playing good defense and move the puck, a physical top 6 winger that drives the net, and most importantly a new GM that make changes we need instead of what he thinks is best for the vets.

Can we go and get some actual offensive defensemen ?

So basically we will anchor and totally make Datsyuk ineffective because they want to get Cleary going ? There is something seriously wrong with what Babcock is saying. Sorry, but the best players deserve to play top 6 minutes, and Cleary doesn't even deserve a spot on this roster, let alone time with one of the best players in the league. When Babcock comes back to reality he will then see that Cleary is absolutely useless and not even Gretzky could make him good.

I think next period they should use these lines. Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Bertuzzi (already have good chemistry, and D with Z play extremely well) Tatar - Franzen - Nyquist (Franzen plays best as a center, Tatar and Nyquist already have chemistry) Abby - Helm - Sammy (Good pressure line, Abby plays well with Helm. Sammy is at least better than Cleary) Miller - Anderson - Cleary (whatever.)

Get Cleary out of the top 6 before next period. Absolutely doing nothing but killing any momentum they try to get going.

All of a sudden Cleary is going to make Datsyuk useless because of his turnovers. They will be defending the entire time even though they are the 2nd line.

Why the f*** is Cleary on the top line ? We don't need anyone to be the net presence because Bertuzzi is there already. Cleary has shown no reason as to why he should be on the top line over anyone on the entire team. Tatar has done a better job in less games, more productive, turns bad situations into good, makes great passes to the D (which Quincey, Kindl, Smith) cannot finish. What has Cleary done besides get 3 lucky secondary assists and fall over and turnover the puck 22 times a game. Babcock isf****** retarded, thank god he isn't picking Team Canada roster...
