I absolutely hate the leafs, and being from Toronto doesn't help. However, I agree 100% with what you are saying. Phil Kessel is a great player, I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves. He has improved in every area of his game the last couple years. He's also been in the top 10 in points the last 2 years, and he's getting better. I would take him on the Wings anyday.

The signing was made for future in hand as well. Like someone said, right now it might be an overpayment but in a couple years it will be a great deal. People said the same when Ericsson signed, and even when Datsyuk got his contract. Look what happened with them. -

Crosby plays with Kunitz and Dupuis. There is no physicality with that line either but yet they still produce.

These jerseys are complete ass, who did they leave in charge of the jerseys. The only thing I can relate the gold border that is around the leaf is the color of Maple Syrup.

They might have Orr and McClaren (hugely overrated) but they don't play every game, and many minutes. There was plenty of games last year where both of them would be on the ice and they were just playing hockey. They don't intentionally try to injure players every game, they get more pumped up for games against Philly, Bruins and Montreal than anything.

Leafs suck, and no one is scared of them. I live in Toronto now and watch quite a few leaf games and they really are not that good of a team especially over 82 games.

I miss him and Homer. We saw last year what a huge impact Homer had on this team, no one can fill his shoes. -
They really weren't that great. I would rather watch Tim and Sid over them anyday.

Brunner was more of a want than a need after this off-season. I personally didn't really like his play other than he could score goals, and think Tatar would replace him quite easily given the same minutes and role.

If Datsyuk continues on the streak hes on now he will end up with over 1000 points when he retires (PPG player), and maybe a few more Selke's. If they win another cup before he retires I definitely say Datsyuk needs to get retired.

Abby just doesn't have the skill to put up those numbers, and like I said earlier shouldn't be granted the ice time to try either. He is a good 3rd or 4th line player. He will never put up more than 35 points max no matter who he plays with. I would rather not waste the final years of Datsyuk with Abby playing on his wing. I would rather one of our young skilled forwards whether it be Tatar or Nyquist to try to learn from playing with him.

I don't think people are trashing on Abby. I think they hate the idea of him playing top line again in front of way more talented players, at least that's where my issue is. I see it the same as Cleary playing in the top 6.. doesn't make sense.

I dont know.. Maybe someone that can score more than 5 goals on there own in 48 games ?

I would argue Abby has no right to play in the top 6 at all. He can't shoot, can't pass, can't deflect shots... he basically can't do anything right except maybe hit the odd person here and there. He is a 3rd or 4th line player, nothing more. Also I don't even want to see him on a line with D and Z. It's just a waste to have someone play with great players who cannot finish anything.

100 % agree. Put it this way, David ******* Clarkson makes 500k less than Zetterberg.
