They are also making Burns a D-men again. I think Thornton might be dealt.
-
Rumor is Shero is heading to Washington. Interesting

Memorial Cup Val d'Or vs London Knights is on Sportsnet tonight. Griffins play tonight as well. What a dilemma.
-
I doubt it. It's a business and they should be mature enough to deal with someone leaving especially a coach.
-
They need to resign Gionta, Vanek (Maybe), Eller, Weise, Markov, Subban (8 million minimum), Emelin, Weaver, Murray / Bouillon They have 26 million in cap space to do so. That's with the cap going to 71 million and Montreal spending the cap.
-
I would take half of that if it was possible. Unfortunetly it will never happen, but I do see us pursuing Boyle, would really love to get Markov though.

No..... I don't remember seeing Brunner do this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4f8__aC9R_Q That is compete, effort, speed and high level of skill. Brunner didn't have half of that.
-
Toronto (Hamilton / Markham) could have two teams quite easily. Leafs will fight for it not to happen which is why it probably won't.

Vanek only has his shot? Vanek has more career assists than goals. You don't really watch much Vanek thats for sure, and comparing him to Franzen is a joke. Vanek is one of the best players in front of the net, which most of his goals are scored from. Just incase you didn't know we need someone that can shoot and score, and a guy that can play in front of the net and cause havoc. Half the goals in the below video were from in front of the net off quick hands, deflections or breakaways. Something Abby can't provide. Once again you have no idea what Datsyuk likes, no one does. Please don't assume Datsyuk would say no to play with Vanek. Would take Kesler except we would trade a lot to acquire him. With new GM and Coach in Vancouver he isn't going anywhere anyways.
-
Obviously not. 59P in 65GP, while being a +12 and has 7 PPG. Who needs that, not us. Let's just keep putting Abby there, he is so much better. Glad you have seen them player together before. Also, seriously saying Sid and Kane with Datsyuk? Please explain to me why your comparing those guys to Vanek when they would never play for the Wings? Vanek is a UFA, Sid and Kane are not.
-
Vanek ? The plays they could setup would be incredible. Great shot - Check Great passing - Check High Hockey IQ and vision - Check Net Front Presence - Check Great shot deflector - Check PPG player on a bad team (Buffalo) - Check PP Specialist - Check For everything else there is MasterCard.
-
Although not possible I would swap him for Mule in a minute. At least this guy scores in the playoffs.
-
This is no coincidence, he's that bad. CapGeek @capgeek In the span of 24 hours, Johan Franzen has moved to No. 2 on our most popular buyouts list behind David Clarkson.
-
He's getting a "realgud" look at Mantha.
-
This is very accurate.
-
Then send him packing. Not looking at stats Franzen is not worth much. I would rather an asset in his place then a liability. He's Ovi except 1/10th the player, when he isn't scoring he doesn't do anything else.
-
Sign me up. Get Abby off the top line.
-
Zetterberg was top 3 in scoring for the first two months before his injury. Datsyuk was top 10. Alfie was top 30 at one time during the season as well. We don't sign high offensive players (since Hossa). If we got Vanek this offseason I would bet he scores 30-40 goals and gets over a PPG. It's hard to score a lot of goals when you have dmen that can't move the puck at all (Quincey, Lashoff, Kindl). When we had Lidstrom, Rafalski, Kronwall, Stuart we were top 10 in goals for every year.
-
Needs? Top 4 dman and a winger that can play with Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Abby should not see a lick of time in the top 6, we need a finisher.
-
Your arguments are littered with only stats, and not what is played on the ice. It's obvious you turn a blind eye to the turnovers he creates, and I'm assuming it's someone else fault for his give away yesterday. Most people seem on the same page about the same flaws with Franzen, but points are all that seem to matter to you. I don't care if he scores 50 points a year, we can put another player to play with Datsyuk that will do that and more. I compared Franzen with Cleary to show how broken your comparison of Franzen vs Nyquist really is.
-
The bold shows your maturity. Good job. Comparing Franzen to Nyquist is ridiculous. Lets compare a 35 year old vet vs a 35 year old vet. Since 2010. Cleary 30GP 16P 0 Franzen 32GP 12P -12 Don't worry guys, Franzen is still good. Edit: oh and is apparently average on D
-
Difference being, he was the reason a goal was scored on us in that game. Game might have been different if he actually tried to pass while skating instead of standing still. I know i know, too much effort.
-
Well, after the playoffs this year I just have a weird feeling one of the young guys will be included in a trade for a top 4 dmen. Whether it's Tatar, or Jurco I'm not sure. It's pretty obvious what we need for next year and unless Boyle or Markov sign with us we will have to go the trade route.
