I think he typed it wrong. I think he meant to say "He was selfish". I said it before, and I will say it again. Datsyuk didn't have to stay with us for another 3 years, he could have went to Russia this coming year. If you think we are f***ed now, imagine us without Datsyuk for the next 3 years. I would let him go to Russa 110/100 times to have him for another 3 years. People need to stop being greedy and act like they owe us more then what they have already done.

I feel torn by this. I want Datsyuk to captain Russia, he deserves it. The other side of me wants him to rest, because something is seriously wrong, and I want him to come back the same player he was to start the season, the the next 3 years. -

Kids doing everything right. Start them on the PP first this time. -
They won't because they don't have the cap space for adding more forwards and don't need goal scoring (as obvious). If you don't think they would give Vanek a 7 year deal at 7 per if they needed goal scoring you are insane. The cap is going up 9-10% next year, that alone covers the cost of him. Getzlaf, Perry, Kessel are comparable to Vanek production, yet they get 8+ million per. Z-Pav-Abby or Z-Pav-Vanek I know which one I choose and it's no knock on Abby at all.

Vanek is better than Franzen, not sure why there is even a debate about it. Vanek goes to the dirty area's to and score a lot of goals from in front of the net, has a wicked shot, amazing vision, stick handling and is decent on defense. Franzen isn't terrible for his cap hit, but his injuries and lack of motivation and consistency makes this not close for me.

This. I am just extremely happy he's signed for another 3 years. He could have just left us last year and went to Russia. Let him do his thing. We love Pasha too much to turn on him.
