The problem is these guys don't understand that they aren't going to change anything by complaining. The Wings shrug it off, like in Dallas, Homer gets robbed, does he shut down and whine? No he goes and gets a goal anyway. Instead of trying harder to adhear to the rules and not get caught, the Kings gave up. That is why Lombardi was mad. If Penner was your saving grace, you should have got him before the deadline.

He wont fit our cap without moving someone and we have 25+ teams with priority over us. A trade was the only way, now Conks is off the market. Bring in the next speculation please.

2011 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 28th, 3:00 PM ET

TSN: The trading frenzy leading up to Monday's NHL trade deadline continues as the Nashville Predators have sent defenceman Alexander Sulzer to the Florida Panthers for a conditional draft pick. -
Meech, 2nd round pick to Ott for Campoli. Hudler, Salei, 2 1st round picks to Fla for Weiss. I did the numbers on the trade machine at CG and it all should fit, im not great with ltir. Z-D-H---------------------------Lids-Big E Mule-Flip-Cleary-------------Kron-Raffi Eaves-Weiss-Bert ----------Camper-Stuart Abs-Helm-Miller-------------Kindl Draper Modano(March) Howard Ozzy(March) Campoli is doing better than Salei, I think with his age he will adapt better, get a chance to play on the 2nd pairing, make it a clear fight between Big-E and Kindl, and he's a RFA after this season. Weiss is great, I see him alot here in FL, he would do great in our system and he is under contract for 2 more years. That would end the Modano experiment. No backup needed till next year, MacDonald will just have to step up till the Oz man cometh. Best I could do. What do you guys got?
-
There are more Hockey fans who come to FL from MI than hockey fans that live in FL. I imagine 1/4 the people who go to TB games would be wearing a different jersey if their team of choice was there.

I'm with ya, right now we could move a forward and a d, and take back a better 5 d-man. Estimating Ericsson(222k) and Eaves(185k), MacDonald(136k) back in AHL and cap space: around 600k cap hit. 600k cap hits: Sopel - Atl 577k Lilja - Ana 298k w/bonuses Hedja - Cbj 495k Campoli - Ott 346k There are a few more but I excluded for a few reasons.

Maybe he wins us a cup this year, teaching Howard how to do it and earning his retirement. Gosh I hope.

Today, per Freep: ""Wings goalie Chris Osgood: 'I'll be back' Goaltender Chris Osgood is certain he’ll be back playing soon, which is just what the Red Wings have been waiting to hear. Osgood’s availability was in doubt as recently as last week, as he was dealing with the aftermath of undergoing surgery Jan. 11. “I feel better now, like, health-wise and strength-wise, than I did previous to the injury,” Osgood said this morning. “There’s no doubt, I’ll be back, it’s just a matter of when.” Osgood guessed he may be ready to play next week while the Wings are on the West Coast, but there really isn’t a set return date. For now, the workload is on Jimmy Howard, who’ll start tonight’s game against San Jose."" He's the Terminator!

2011 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 28th, 3:00 PM ET

The Dallas Stars have traded forward James Neal and defenceman Matt Niskanen to the Pittsburgh Penguins for defenceman Alex Goligoski.More details to follow.// -
Oz retires on his own and if he tells Kenny he's ok, Holland makes no move. I see the standard, "Red Wings aquire Kris Newbury for Chris Minard" or similar AHL move as our only deadline move. Our team is great, Modano is the only guy i'm worried about for this season. He could drag us down or come in like dynamite.

Adding in the trade arounds to re-aquire draft picks, etc. This has got to be some of the most over-done GMing in the league. Anyone but Burke would be fired. All the trades with Anaheim too, just weird.
-
I'm going to this one too! The Wings fans owned the TB game, lets see that fire tonight! !LETS GO RED WINGS!
-
I'll be there, and we better win! No Stevie-Y man love from me tonight. Should be 50/50 crowd tonight, if your there you better be loud, "LETS GO WINGS"
-
No afterparty for us, 3 hour ride south after the game, afterparty is in the car
-
Sec 322, the Wings shoot twice that side, if I am correct. Need the LGW hat so we can recognize each other.
-
Not sure of Bogo's bonuses, but if they involve the playoffs or winning and we do, we'd carry his almost 2.5 million penalty against the cap, including w/e penaltys we get already. We won't get him, not this season atleast.
-
Sweet, See ya there Brad!

The Anaheim Ducks' seventh-round pick will go to the Toronto Maple Leafs as the result of a March 3, 2010 trade that sent Joey MacDonald to the Ducks in exchange for this pick. Anaheim's getting their pick back now. With all the moves Burke's got 1 extra pick in the 6th round this year.
-
Wow, Burke actually getting a 1st, not losing one is a win in any book. Tor wins the trade, unless Philly wins the cup, on a Versteeg goal...in OT. Then it's even.

Per TSN: San Jose acquired right wing Patrick Davis and center Mike Swift from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for center Steve Zalewski and defenseman Jay Leach. Leach, 31, has one goal and four assists in 50 games for Worcester (AHL) this season. He played 24 games for the Devils in 2008-09, collecting one assist without a goal. Daily swaps, I love trade season.
-
Per TSN: The New York Islanders acquired goaltender Al Montoya from the Phoenix Coyotes for a sixth round draft pick in 2011 on Wednesday.

Russian player name transcriptions to change, will NHL follow?
Wingzman91 replied to edicius's topic in General
I was against the name change, till i read Semyon Varlamov's name was being spelled Semen. Now thats funny. -
Glad the Fisher talk is over and he is not on the Wings, glad to see him go drop the average for Nash.
-
I knew they were going to firesale, quick, scoop Weiss before he ends up on the Avs or Nash.
