At this price, anyone that is a seller at the trade deadline will pick him on waivers. The funny part is how they say Emery wouldn't be ready with a conditioning stint, and needs more time. I believe you can ask to have your conditioning stint extended, if you and the club agree. You still count against the cap though.

That isn't what the rule is for. The rule is so you can't sign a player you hid in another league, when you need them, circumvernting the CBA, thats what the minors are for. Ofcourse you can sign a player that hasn't played at all for any team, and for them to have to clear waivers would be dumb. Forsberg couldn't even play at the beginning of the year, or he would have played for Modo. Ramping his game up, by playing non-professional games? Capwise you have to move someone, if Osgood doesn't get traded his contract counts, even if he retires or goes to the AHL. Thats why I gave up on figuring out the backup this year, its Osgood.

The question is and still should be, why trade flip? because he has value vs hudler? Those are poor reasons. Everyone is looking to make the trade that makes immediate impact. Because saying that you would solidify the forwards and maybe make a minor d move or get a backup goalie doesnt sound flashy enough to post. I like the team, and this year is a great year for the standard, "Getting our players back from ir is our deadline move". No center we get would have nearly the same chemistry as flip does with this team. So, no, he shouldn't be traded.
