  1. The desire to spark debate is admirable.

If you ever studied debate, you would know you lose the high ground by name calling.

If you are to be believed and trolling is not your goal, then I simply suggest sticking to the topic and not tip your hand as to your biases.

Granted, you may not care for traditional news sources, but rarely does the Associated Press call people Vaxtards, just sayin'.

I don't use Tictok and I have no facebook, etc.

    Just pure sources...

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines post-vaccination cases as individuals who are fully vaccinated and tested positive for COVID-19 more than 14 days after they completed their full one-dose or two-dose vaccination series. They are also referred to as vaccine breakthrough cases.

Today’s online report shows that since January 2021:

    ·         97 percent of COVID-19-related deaths were in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people. Among a total of 6,472 COVID-19-related deaths identified in Pennsylvania in 2021, the latest data shows 213, or three percent, post-vaccination deaths identified. Cumulative death incidence among the unvaccinated and not fully vaccinated was 7.9 times as high as the death incidence among the fully vaccinated.

    ·         95 percent of reported hospitalizations with COVID-19 as the primary diagnosis/cause of admission were in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people. Among a total of 34,468 hospitalizations with COVID-19 as the primary diagnosis/cause of admission reported in Pennsylvania, 1,820 were reported to have occurred in fully vaccinated people. These figures account for data from 55 percent of all hospitals and 69 percent of acute care hospitals in Pennsylvania, representing approximately 80 percent of acute care beds in the state.

    ·         94 percent of reported COVID-19 cases were in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people. Among a total of 639,729 positive cases, there have been 35,389, or six percent, identified post-vaccination cases. Cumulative case incidence among the unvaccinated and not fully vaccinated was 7.1 times as high as the case incidence among the fully vaccinated.

“That means that 97 percent of deaths reported through the beginning of September were in unvaccinated or not fully-vaccinated people,” Beam said.

No, you moved goal posts. Asking for a ridiculous amount of specific information. The idea that lack of robust study is evidence of falsehood is an argument from ignorance.

so...one of my favorite things to see from this heard is this.

You used an exact percentage then when asked to source it, started in with everything but the source.

You have no problem offering up information, but when asked it's the last thing you can offer.

It's fine if you don't have the sources, but don't pretend you couldn't be making a mistake. If science can get things wrong, certainly keyboard scientists can also.

The difference between being a skeptic and being a troll is the goal.

Currently the 'vaxtards' as you put it are using proof to your hearsay.

You are not bad for questioning anything, but your personal experience in anecdotal and not proof of anything.

Proof happens in numbers, and while that seems tedious and refutable, it is definitive truth.

You have expose your bias, it is on you to prove your case.

If you can't then you have lost the debate, like many scientists, lawyers and scholars before you.

Losing is not a sign of weakness but the start of your next win.

Then again, if you are just trolling...meh. It's sad, sad to see the value you place on human life and the combined effort of all trolls and what they could accomplish if they could stop being lazy and apply themselves.

Be good, do good. If you can't embrace that, don't live a lie.

  3.

    God, smh.

This world is full of conspiracy theorists.

Not even the kind looking for truth, just the kind looking for attention.

The trolling of people who are on your side is what really needs explanation.

Also, I don't like comments about Draper's face, he looks like that because of Claude Lemieux, not Kronwall.

  4. "Reporter" asks, " Would you be willing to trade the 1st or maybe a player like Mantha? "

'source' says, " Look, if someone wants to blow us away with an offer then of course I would consider it, I'm not doing my job otherwise. "

"Reporter" prints, " Wings open to moving 1st/Mantha. "

Fans use whatever scrap of evidence to support their personal feelings and the sun sets.

  5. I make about one post a year and I have to waste it on this garbage....

BOOO, these reporters are reporting on the news and not on whatever their opinion might be, BOOO.

This is being played like politics and a perceived lack of interest in bashing management is being equated to condoning said moves.

These are not the same things, everyone is taking mental shortcuts to the conclusion and bypassing the idea that media SHOULD report ONLY the facts.

People are so quick to forget that because it is sports, it is journalism too, adding opinion taints that.

Let bloggers speculate, speculation is what you people seem to desire, but is also the reason these speculators don't have credentials, because they only want those credentials to make their asinine opinions seem more valid when they are arguing in their own comments section.

Nobody knows what a good signing is until the season is over and we all have 20/20 hindsight, your intuition is not proof of any fact and your anger is not a catalyst for change. All I read when I see this garbage is a lot of spoiled fans who even after making the playoffs for 23 years in a row and winning more Stanley Cups than any team in a quarter century, think they could do better and sit around bitterly whining about a few depth moves being made.

    Grow up Hockeytown!

29 other teams lose the cup or on said free agent, I can't wait for the article to come out saying player X didn't want to come to Detroit because of the entitled fans, well I guess I could buy a website, call myself a blogger, write the opinion myself, use anonymous sources and then ***** because no one takes me serious.

  6. ...didn't the 8th seed Kings win last year, I bet you saw that coming too.

I try to explain this all the time to the glass half empty crowd, no one here cares that you don't believe and no one thinks you are intelligent for predicting 1 out of 30 teams won't win.

We enjoy watching our team, so you know what to do with your predictions....

For lack of a negative button, my response is to write out NEGATIVE.

  7. The new CBA cuts operating costs and fixing travel cuts costs.

This is textbook positioning for expansion.

The imbalance created will be offset by two new teams out west.

Two more teams equals more money for the NHL.

Most people who want Detroit in the West want it for selfish reasons, I want them in the East for selfish reasons.

The question is, 'What does the team want?'

Atleast the realignment is considered positive by the Wings.
If that means you see less games in person and the team wins more games in general, so be it.

  8. I actually don't think Emmerton is that bad. He's not a better player than Tootoo, but I do agree that he's probably better than he looked on the fourth line. I mean, the kid was drafted as a play maker, not a grinder, and he's not being used in that role. Regardless, he still played 71 games in his rookie season and scored 10 pts. By comparison, Justin Abdelkader didn't play 70+ games until his third season and scored 19 pts. Give Emmerton two more seasons and I think he'd be at least that effective if not more so.

By comparison, Abdelkader is 1 year older, 1 cup wiser, 1 inch taller, 111 more hits last year and 28 pounds heavier.

Abdelkader's first full season with Detroit was the 70+ game season.

The previous season where he had 6 points in 50 games was split with Grand Rapids, where he had 24 points in 33 games, compared to Emmerton who managed 37 points in 76 games with Grand Rapids that same season.

I like Emmerton, I just don't think he is better than alot of options we have currently and coming up in the system.

  9. If you don't blame Fehr any you are wrong.

Yep, Fehr locked out the union and started cancelling games as a negotiation tactic.

Yep, Fehr presided over multiple lockouts and worked for the the same law firm behind every major sport lockout of the last few years.

Yep, Fehr ate your brother after his paper boat floated into the sewer.

    Yep, Fehr sank the Titanic.

Yep, Fehr...eh I am out of ideas, you seem good at assigning blame to people who don't deserve it, why don't you finish.

  10. He has performed well at other levels. Im excited to see what he does as he gets used to a bigger role, too.

Like the AHL, where he never had a positive season (+/-) or the OHL, where on the top line playing PP and SH he could not make it past 6 games/season in the playoffs, going -2, -4 and -1 in 3 seasons which included him being traded 2 months after being named captain in '07.

I'm excited to see what draft pick we can pull in for him, as it is now, that 5th round pick has a better chance of playing for Detroit than Emmerton.

Andersson, in addition to scoring 50+ points last season with the Griffins (Emmerton never broke 40), is taller, stronger, younger and Swedish.

  11. Every article I have read on this throw the lockout into the equation, even though it was never mentioned by any party.

Also, I was unaware that Paul Bunyun was a insult, in this article they remove the quote of the lady asking Santa if "that was necessary".

This is from the country that just arrested someone last month because he was in public saying Santa is not real.

Fired from an acting job is one thing, arrested for telling the truth is another.

  12. Like it has been said, if you blame Fehr you are wrong.

According to Bettman it has been 1000's of players and their reps killing the NHL for years.

According to facts, the league has increased revenue to record amounts, inspite of 1 lawyer and 30 owners mismanagement.

That said, with this round of give-backs from the players to make even more money for the owners, why would they fire Bettman?

He has done everything needed to short-change players and turn teams into turnkey investments.

The owners will keep him and some players still make more than he does, so I voted yes.

  13. Tatar is better than Emmerton, like others have stated, if it was not a risk to send him to the minors Emmerton would already be there, ala Ritola.

Ritola, btw, career gp43 g4 a5 p9 and as of November 9, 2011 no longer plays in the NHL compared to...

    Emmerton career gp73 g7 a4 p14, meaning it takes Emmerton 5.2 game/point vs Ritola 4.7 game/point.

Tootoo is on 3.8 game/point, playing his entire career with Nashville, a team that produced more goals than Detroit 1 time (06-07) in his career.

    Goals Det Nash

    03-04 255 216

    05-06 301 253

    06-07* 252 266

    07-08 252 227

    08-09 289 207

    09-10 223 217

    10-11 257 213

    11-12 239 232

Emmerton makes a good black ace.

Tootoo is a good 4th liner and a top of the league agitator.

Not to mention at all the differences in each others hitting game.

  14. I gotta agree though...Outside of playing a kids game - what do these players offer to society, or the workforce?

Disagree, if you want to make it player vs fan then ya, fans make the NHL; the conflict is between the owners and the players, players work way harder for their % of the NHL the the owners do.

The owners locked out the players for a bag of cash, polarized the issue and watched as the fans ripped each other apart.

There is a perfectly sorted reason for this lockout and the tactics the owners employed, that reason has to be discussed on a different site though.

  15. Yawn...couldn'tf****** care less...the only thing that would be appealing about a settlement is the thought of seeing half empty arenas and empty spaces on the boards because sponsors have bailed...but too many of the fans are as stupid as the two parties involved so we'll continue to see the same s*** repeated...

This stupid fan, can wait as long as it takes and will be first in line to get tickets to see the Wings.

The lockout may very well be a good thing for this team, we could end up with a higher draft pick then we would have normally, including a 1 in 30 shot of the #1 pick.

I love how you think that both sides are stupid, aswell as anyone who attends a game after this, yet you are on a fan site posting about hockey instead of doing everything else in the world.

    Patience grasshoppa.

    The Griffins game is on!

  16. If it is anything like last lockout, it will be a weighted system.

Every team is given 3 lottery balls.

You lose a ball for every year you have been in the playoffs in the last 3 years.

You lose a ball for time you have had the #1 draft pick in the last 4 years.

No team can have less than 1 ball.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Columbus will have 5 balls in the lottery, they have the Kings and Rangers ball and a 10% chance to get the #1 pick.

Three balls: Flames, Hurricanes, Jets, Maple Leafs, Stars, & Wild.

Two balls: Avalanche, Blues, Ducks, Islanders, Lightning, & Panthers.

One ball: Blackhawks, Bruins, Canadiens, Canucks, Capitals, Coyotes, Devils, Flyers, Oilers, Penguins, Predators, Red Wings, Sabres, Senators, Sharks.

    ----------------------------------------------------

Every slot is drawn, 1 thru 30 then the order reverses, round 2 is 30 thru 1, round 3 is 1 thru 30 and so on.

Last time the first one ball team that got picked was the Canadiens, 5th pick. Red Wings got #19.

With a little luck we could have prospect, not a project.

...or they could sign a CBA tomorrow.

  17. And the owners rightfully so will not be giving up their money any time soon so the players can all go over seas to play I guess. If that's what they want so bad. The idiot players that are running their mouths to the media need to shut up and let the big boys negotiate and stop crying.

Ya, get in your pen cattle.

How dare you have an opinion on your boss not letting you make a living.

You are a product and not a person.

You are under contract, that needs to be respected along with the man who signed it.

    --PFFFFT--

Sounds like the only crying is from the turncoats on these boards and the PR boys running TSN right now.

A two week break was proposed, how is that negotiating???

Ian spoke up and threw Bettman under the bus, saying what all of us have said or thought at one point.

    And what happened???

They got their asses back to the table, way to go and thank you Mr. White.
