Not that I had much respect for him in the first place, but after these last two games, I lost whatever little respect I had for Tim Thomas. Not only does dude dive and embellish constantly to try to draw penalties, but (especially last game) after almost every damn play on his end, he cries and chirps at the refs begging for a penalty call for no reason.

If Thornton gets more than 5 games, it just once again proves what a complete joke the NHL is, and how hypocritcal they are. Lets be real here, Thornton didn't even drop the gloves, he just caught Orpik just right with a gloved hit and briefly KO'd him. The only reason everyone is making a big deal out of it is because the brought in the stretcher. Players throw punches to each others face with gloves on literally every single game at some point. Neal should have had the book thrown at him. That knee was such a digusting and dirty play. Thornton was out of line too, but Neals hit was WAY worse, IMO. The intent from Neal was nothing other than to seriously injure. Lets also not forget that the reason Thornton went after Orpik was because Neal immediately after kneeing Marchand in the head, ran to the bench like a gutless coward so he wouldn't have to go with any of the Bruins. If Neal stays on the ice to face the music, Thornton goes after him instead.

Someone said on the other page "to all of you questioning if Orpik was hurt" (sorry, quote function on the site is not working for me or I'd quote it) I don't think anyone was questioning if he got KO'd or not. The question was more of why he got taken off on a stretcher for it. I'll be honest, I thought the exact same thing, since it looked like he just got briefly knocked out. (which know now, is exactly what happened) Players get KO'd pretty much weekly in the NHL, and none of them get taken off in stretchers for it, so it is a legitimate question IMO. And while Thornton was out of line, lets be real here, if Orpik wasn't taken off in a stretcher, this would have been a non-issue, and all of the focus would have been on Neals dirty hit instead. I also agree that Neal should receive just as long of a suspension as Thornton for his vicious knee. In fact he should receive a longer suspension IMO, that play was super dirty and an intentional attempt to severely injure another, unlike Thornton. But as the league is a joke when it comes to discipline, I fully expect Thornton to get the book thrown at him while Neal gets a slap on the wrist.

Yeah, seeing the Wings fourth line there scares me. I hope we're proven wrong though. edit-meant to quote Bruise Bros, the quote function didn't seem to work for some reason.

Whats up with the weird start times lately? Last game started at 8 for some reason, and now this one starts at 7. I thought 7:30 was the standard weekday start time.

That was pretty pathetic. I feel embarrassed for the Wings. They get roughed up and walked all over, then they let them get FOUR unanswered goals within like one periods time, and 5 by the game end.

Philly is a joke. I call their style "temper tantrum hockey". Whenever things aren't going exactly as planned, instead of acting like grown men, they start acting like 4 year olds throwing a temper tantrum. Laughable...

Quincey is horrible. Unless it is a one year two way contract at league minimum, with no ntc clause, I would be disgusted if the Wings re-signed him.

No he doesn't. I know people like to hate on Cooke because of his past (and for good reason) but he has tried (and succeeded for the most part) to pull a Mikita style 180 degree turn, and clean up his play over the last couple years.

I think the reason hockey fans in general are still talking about this is just the complete hypocrisy on part of the NHL when it come to headshots and discipline. The NHL keeps saying over and over how they are taking a stand against headshots like this, and if a headshot occurs that results in an injury, it will be an automatic suspension regardless of how it happens. And then you see Datsyuk, one of the top players in the entire league get concussed by a headshot, and the league just gives some asinine BS excuse about why there was no suspension, despite the fact that they have repeated over and over ad nauseum that plays like this, even if they are accidental or reckless, will be dealt with suspensions, and there will be zero tolerance. Now we get to see yet one more time, that the league is completely full of s***, and just says whatever they think people want to hear, with zero intention of actually following through.

Is this actually confirmed? The Wings site, says its supposed to be on FSD+, not to mention the NHL network never has exclusive rights to games like this, they always also air on either the local channels or NBC. YES!!! Just turned it on, the guide must have been wrong. The guide on mine still says basketball, but they are actually showing the Wings pre-game No need to fear everyone! Its gonna be OK. *sigh of relief*

That's what I am seeing too. College basketball, then west coast customs, then poker. They better show the Wings game instead of all that crap, or I am going to ***** up a storm to the cable company.

According to their website, its supposed to be on FSD+, but I just checked the on screen channel guide on my cable, and it said poker is airing on FSD+ at the time the game is supposed to be on. Hopefully its just a mix up...

Nobody insulted you. I said your statement was dumb. In case you forgot or don't want to look up to see what you said, you stated he should be suspended regardless of whether he is convicted or not simply because the sensationalistic media (whose only purpose is to drum up controversy) has decided they have already convicted him with zero evidence or knowledge of the actual case.
