Wait...is Winnipeg in Canada? I could have sworn they were playing in southern Mississippi or something, the ice is so ******* horrible. They should be ashamed of themselves that they are a Canadian team and have some of, if the THE worst ice in the league.

Its funny cause we used to crack on Murph for sounding drunk a lot, but the way Ozzie sounds to me is the same way the people I know who take adderal (or coke) sound. They talk very fast and their words run together and sound mumbly or stuttery at times.

f*** Just lost picture entirely.

Feed seems OK now. *knock wood*
-
Is the feed f***ed up for everyone else too? With static and lines across the screen, and the picture glitching out every few seconds?
-
Exactly. That's the frustrating thing about Franzen is he has tons of potential, but doesn't seem to care whatsoever and is lazy and apathetic with that fat lifetime contract.
-
Apparently in his delusional mind, he thinks he scores on every chance he gets. So whatever the number of goals he has, is the number of chances he'll claim he's had...

"I hypnotize you with my teeth" *bonus points to anyone who actually gets the reference*

I don't think anyone should pass any judgement whatsoever, until we know exactly what happened. (which we likely never will) Especially since the laws in this country are so convoluted and f***ed up, and they'll lock you up and hit you with a half dozen charges just for blinking wrong. (hence the highest prison population on the planet) You know when you were a kid and your mother said "com here young man/lady" and grabbed your arm? Well, technically, since she touched your arm, that's felony assault and since she moved you from your previous position, that is kidnapping. As an adult example, a few years ago a friend of mine had these exact same two charges filed against him. What happened was his girlfriend at the time came home all f***ed up on some sort of hard drugs and started going literally crazy and screaming and tearing his place up. He finally got her to calm down and told her she had to leave. He opened the door and said come back when you are sober and calm down and lightly put his hand on her shoulder and escorted her the two feet out the door. I was actually there when this happened with my girlfriend at the time, so I saw exactly what happened. Anyway, we leave and the next day, we come to find out that HE was charged with kidnapping and assault because several hours later the girl decided to call the cops for whatever reason. According to the cops, making her leave HIS house was considered kidnapping, and since he lightly put his hand on her shoulder, they decided to charge him with assault too. Oh, and they flat out refused to charge her with anything despite the fact that she tore his house up and scratched his arms up while in a drug fit, while he did absolutely nothing to defend himself. This...unfortunately, is the system we live in here... *sigh* I am definitely NOT excusing Varlamov if he actually did beat and kidnap his girl, but from the one story I have encountered first hand and others I have heard about over the years, most of these "kidnapping and assault" charges the cops conjure up are BS and not at all what the name of the charges would have you think.

Trial date set in Steve Moore’s lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi
sleepwalker replied to WingsAlways's topic in General
Well, cause 'ol Stevie is living up to his last name... First he wanted a couple mil, then 5, then 10, now...40 mil? Laughable. By the time the trial starts, I'm sure Moore will be asking upwards of 60 mil. -
The most annoying things about being at games?
sleepwalker replied to Red Wings Addict's topic in General
I very much prefer to just watch games at home, instead of going to the games. I don't have to shell out a hundred bucks for parking, overpriced crap beer, etc. Instead I can sit at home with my friends and enjoy great food that only cost what the ingredients cost, good beer, not have to deal with assholes, actually be comfortable, etc. Oh, and to the person bitching about the people who complain about how the seats are too small, well they are. I am your average tall guy and I am not fat, but I could barely fit in the seats. They are made for shorter/skinny people. Its like the people who say the people complaining about the seats on planes are just fat whales, when in reality if you are over 6'2", there is no way you can comfortably sit in a coach seat. Thats just facts. -
I'd say the team so far this year seems to suffer from a lack of synergy.
-
Yeah, no s***, I'm definitely glad I stayed in to watch this game instead of going out. It was surely worth it to see the boys work so hard. /sarcasm This game was ******* pathetic.
-
Completely disagree with Mick and his talk about how its good the crowd hasn't boo'd like most crowds would at this point. Fact is, the Wings played crap this game and looked lackadaisical and apathetic for half the game. If any time, this is one of those times the fans should give them a little boo, if not for the play itself (which deserves it) at least it might light a little fire under their asses.

This is a weird one, and I am shocked and disappointed there was a suspension handed out. I watched the clip multiple times and I don't even see a hit to the head. I see Edler going hard for the puck and Hertle charging in from Edlers bling side and running head first into his shoulder. Not sure how that is Edlers fault... Maybe there are other angles though that show something different than the clip in the first post of this thread does though. EDIT: At second glance, it even looks like Edler sees Hertl at the last second and tucks his elbow in to try to avoid any harmful contact. Honestly, I think this one is all on Hertl.
-
My guess is he'll get "time served", so zero extra games by the time the hearing comes around. Who really ******* knows though with the wheel of justice.
-
Why is the meeting almost a week later? Don't they usually do them before the next game they are supposed to play?
-
Well, to be fair, that's a joke that we all make around here quite often too, because, well...its got some truth to it.
-
It will be anywhere from 1 to 10 games, depending on where the pointer on Shannys wheel of justice lands after he spins it...
-
Just seeing Roys face annoys me... I hope a stray puck jumps up and smashes him in his ugly grill.

gdt 10/15 GDT : Blue Jackets 1 at Red Wings 2
sleepwalker replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Fantastic...yet another game filled with bone-headed reffing. The reffing overall in the NHL this season so far sucks. Not only that, but the refs getting in the way of plays or just flat out refusing to move out of the way of the puck and affecting plays negatively is absurd so far this season, all around. (not necessarily this game, but what I have seen overall so far is just ridiculous.) -
I don't feel the least bit sorry for Pronger. This is poetic justice for a dirty scumbag of a player who spent his whole career viciously and intentionally trying to injure people. At least Cooke is trying to pull a Mikita. Pronger was dirty to the very end.

Ruslan Salei’s Family Uses Russian TV Psychic To Contact Him
sleepwalker replied to thegerkin's topic in General
LOL Reminds me of that episode of Home Movies where McGuirk is pretending to be a blind psychic. "Does anyone here know someone who died?...." "C'mon, nobody?! Look, its statistically impossible that nobody here knows someone who died!" (I'm paraphrasing) -
I just want to repeat his one more time... This game was just completely ******* absurd. We won only despite the refs best efforts to throw this game the other way.
-
As far as reffing goes, this is one of the most ridiculously and obviously biased games I've seen in the last couple years.\\\ The refs should be utterly ashamed of themselves for this spectacle.
