These last few calls/non-calls are an example of why people cry about ref/NHL corruption and the refs trying to intentionally even games up via their calls when one team goes down. (especially at home)

He is playing like he always has. For some reason though a lot of people have just completely underappreciated him until recently for some reason.

Yay! I actually got to tune in and catch some of this one! First off... Glendenning > Emmerton This is not even debatable. Second... Its was hilarious to see Chara get so butthurt/temper tantrum-y when Bert shouldered him off. Its like Chara is never even has to go against anyone who is even anywhere close to his size, that when a guy like Bert (still a few inches smaller) with some strength shoulders him off, he gets so upset he almost has a meltdown...

Turkey? What, are you guys just co-opting our thanksgiving and traditions? lol Shouldn't you guys be celebrating with poutine and Labatts? Maybe a little back bacon?

The Wings haven't played in one, (at least in the last decade or so) so most of us never noticed since, you know, we were at work...

I never noticed, since like you said, it didn't affect us. I thought it was some Canadian thanksgiving thing, lol. That's begs the question though...why do this on a day when pretty much everyone in the country has to work?

I see what you did there. Just to play devils advocate... One could argue that the only reason injuries like this occur is because players are forced to play on slippery ice and balance on a single blade. Ban ice and skates and lets play on a rubber surface and wear sneakers.

Man... Even aside from the dozen blown icing calls, the reffing this game has been pretty bad. In my mind, the head of the refs union comes down during this intermission and slaps the s*** out of all of them, and tells them to pull their heads out of their ass. In reality though, we'll just see another 40 minutes of s***ty reffing....

This game is a perfect example of how this hybrid icing is going to be a complete clusterf***. The refs have blown almost every icing/non- icing call so far this game due to that new hybrid crap.

Too many people forget this simple fact. To bring it closer to home, its like the people who think you can just buy a house in Detroit these days for $1000 since you always hear about htings like that on the news. While technically that's true, but what also comes along with that "$1000 house" it is the $34,000 in unpaid taxes owed on it.

I always hate when things that were originally non calls like this, are all of the sudden called like 20 seconds after the fact and only when they think someone may have got injured. Just watch that first video and see how super late of a call it was.

Its interesting how much things have changed in just the last few years. Now people cheer and talk about how awesome these blowouts are. Just about 5 or 6 years ago though, when the Wings were destroying opponents like this often, a good amount of players, fans, and announcers alike were complaining about how it was bad form and disrespectful to keep scoring goals on an opponent when you are dominating them like that, and after a 3 goal or so lead, you should just sit back and not score any more. I always thought that was hippy-dippy BS, but for whatever reason, it seemed to be the consensus just a few years back.

True, but in this case, its a wooden door with gaps above and below. Should be pretty easy to break down regardless of which way it opens. Only concern would be the cost to replace it, but then again, its not too much of a concern when you are a multimillionaire...

What a cheap ass... If I was a multimillionaire and found myself in that situation, I'd just kick the door open and pay for a new door.
