I was hoping we would overcome it and come out with a win anyway, but the way the NHL these days works, I made this prediction to my buddy before the game; Since the poor widdle Blue Jackets still haven't won a game (and on top of that are playing the mean old Red Wings) you can bet your ass the refs are going to give them a s*** ton of power plays ( I predicted between 7-10 going to the the BJs and only 1-3 going to the Wings) to try to help them get their first win. Its sad that the NHL and refs are so predictable these days. You already know when they are going to try to tilt a game with their calls.

Its not as big a deal as most people are making it out to be. I think the way a lot of people are reacting to this is ridiculous. They are emotional based reponses ignoring all logic. The fact is, if during a game at pretty much any arena, if you showed Crosby and Toews up on the big screen, people would boo. I doubt the people booing even realized it was a cancer add, they just saw their rivals and bood...like any other fanbase would. I think some people just love to hate on the city and people of Philly.

Yeah, guys fighting with (or trying to hide behind) a visor on has always been a big pet peeve of mine.

Jesus... The Wings looked like absolute s*** that period. And they were on the ******* power play for over 25% of the period too... Hopefully they get torn a new ******* during intermission, get their s*** together, and come out in the second like they actually give a s***.

Agreed. The end part of the game kinda gave me flashbacks to all those games last year where they had a big lead, then just sat back and let it slip away. Enjoyable game overall though. Wings just need to stay hungry and keep playing when they have a decent lead, something they had a lot of trouble with last year.

My prediction: Wings 27 Sens -4 We beat them so bad that they end up with negative goals. LETS GO WINGS!!!

Agreed on yuengling. People down here in Ohio are going nuts over it coming here though for some reason. Whatever, to each their own. Is Boxer lager even available in MI or OH? I saw someone mention that before in regards to cheap beer, on BA I think. (might have even been you, lol) Cheapest thing we have down here in OH is Genny Cream ale @ $14 a 30 pack. Better tasting than Bud/Miller, etc IMO too.

A couple companies used to make them in the late 90's/early 2000's. I have a black Hasek jersey made by Pro Player. I think Starter also made them back then.

I'll echo what others have said in that I don't think there are really any more than usual. Shanny is the new sheriff in town this year and he is cracking down HARD on head hits, which is giving the appearance that there are a ton more this year than usual, because they've usually gone unpunished (for the most part) up until now.

Wow. Thats pretty over the top. Especially considering other players got less for similar hits this preseason AND it wasn't a targeted head shot and Ben Smith was just as at fault as Brendan Smith for trying that fancy toe drag at the last second.
