THIS is exactly the point. People aren't upset about corporate sponsorship, as that was inevitable. People are upset because its Amway. Amway is a shady ******* pyramid scheme. They are scumbags that prey on the vulnerable. And to the guy who keeps saying the Amway helped out their local community. So what? I know its an extreme example, but so did Pablo Escobar. He was considered a saint in his community and helped everyone out, built up neighborhoods, built schools, etc. But in the bigger scheme of things, he was a total monster. Much like Amway.

The new rink will be in the form of a giant pyramid with a golden rich doucebag looking businessman on top throwing golden dollars everywhere while laughing. Yeah, I got dragged to one of those presentations about 15 years ago by a buddy of mine. It was indeed freaky. The presenter could obviously tell I thought it was bulls*** and a scam, so he kept trying to call me out and talk s*** and embarass me, to I guess break me down and get me to submit to their bulls***. It was more like some sort of bizarre cult indoctrination than any real business presentation.

Kronwall should, no question. He likely would have already been chosen if Cleary hadn't made his plea through the media for one, IMO. Who will actually get one is anyones guess... You can never trust the public to vote the right way.

Agreed. While steroids is something that is kept hush-hush in the NHL and swept under the rug and ignored, it also has nothing to do with the deaths being discussed in this thread, which as you pointed out were caused by a variety of different things, none of which were steroids.

True, but the only reason this is going to hurt the league, is because, as you pointed out, they've dedicated like 90%+ of their player marketing soley to Crosby. I've always felt this was absolutely retarded, for this exact reason. What happens if he gets seriously injured and is out for a long period of time, or worse, his career is ended early? You screwed yourself. If they had decided to market a lot of great players instead of putting all their eggs in the Crosby basket, then if one of those players gets hurt, it doesn't have as adverse of an effect on the league. Hopefully they will learn from this, but honestly, they probably won't.

No they didn't. Do you not know how negotiating works? You always start out with a high number so you have room for negotiations. An 8.5 starting point likely means he was hoping for somewhere between around 6-7.5. They are most likely paying more for him with this arbitration verdict than he was even expecting to get through negotiations.

He must be a HABITUAL offender to get 30 days for a DUI. They usually don't give you that long unless you already have many, many previous DUIs. (at least around here) My buddy (who has a drinking problem) didn't serve any time until his 4th DUI, and that was just the two day weekend thing, where they stick you in with the other people in for DUIs over the weekend. My other buddy got sentenced to the two day weekend thing after his 3rd, likely because he hit a sign and damaged city property. Either AZ is incredibly strict with all people on DUIs or they decided to f*** him over because he was a rich foreigner in a Ferrari. Lets not forget, it is AZ, and they absolutely hate foreigners there with a passion. I'm definitely not excusing what he did, but 30 days for a DUI in what sounds not like a normal jail, but rather like some crazy outdoor slave labor camp in the desert sun in the middle of summer, for a DUI, seems a bit extreme.

Maybe in your mind, but clearly that is not true. Wiz may be a loudmouth, but you can bet there are a lot of other players feel like he does too, they just aren't out there putting their foot in their mouth making public statements about it. Fact is, whenther we like to beleive it or not, a lot of players play for the sole reasone of the money, and would not sign with Detroit, because they feel the same as Wiz. And some players just flat out don't like Detroit and wouldn't sign here period. I know, shocking, right? As far as Kenny, I probably give him a B/B-

Most of the people in support of the idea, as I mentioned before, are just fans of the idea of a player wearing "Commodore 64" and aren't Wings fans. Don't confuse the vocal minority with the majority. Also don't confuse all people in support of a "Commodore 64" sports jersey as being Wings fans, or even hockey fans. Nope. The Commodore computer company has already made public statements pushing for him to wear it and saying how ecstatic they would be and how it would be great for their company and brand awareness and the relaunch of the C64. They have a LOT to gain if he chooses it. Like millions in free advertising.
