Interesting goal, being there is no call. The reason the goal was wide open and the goalie couldn't get over is because one of the Canadian players stepped into the blue and prevented him from moving. In the NHL we see that called as interference 9 times out of 10.

Where is all the outrage about this? People were freaking out here on the forums about letting the players go to Russia because of potential violence. It truly amazes me how idiotic some people are acting about the players participating in the Olympics. First the Pav thing, now this. Hank's back has been injured for a couple years now, its been an ongoing thing. Anyone who follows the Wings knows this. If he hadn't tweaked it in the Olympic game, he would have tweaked it in the next Wings game.

WTF is up with the nonstop, constant scrolling of scores and tickers across the bottom of the screen??? Is this just because its the plus channel? I know the regular FSD flashes the scores of other games briefly, but then collapses them, but it has been non-stop so far this game. Its EXTREMELY annoying and distracting.

Hey Numbers, how many people have died in terror attacks at the Olympics versus people who have died in drunk driving incidents worldwide? I agree that most people that drive drunk don't get into accidents. That also has absolutely zero to do with what I said. Which was that you have a MUCH greater likelihood of getting hit by a drunk driver than you do dying in some attack at the Olympics. Do you disagree?

If he plays in Sochi while still a bit injured, unlike most people here, I completely understand. Russia is the host country of the Olympics, and Datsyuk has been named the captain of the Russian team. That is a HUGE deal. Of all the hundreds of thousands of professional hockey players in the world only TWO single players every DECADE get that honor.

You are more likely to die from getting hit by someone texting and driving or some drunk than in some incident at the Olympics. I'd be a lot more worried about flying on those Russian airplanes. The media like to exaggerate to sell copies and get clicks. Don't forget that. Every Olympics has threats and concerns surrounding it. Funny how you didn't hear North American media outlets going on and on incessantly about possible threats in Vancouver when they hosted, even though there were MANY. But big, bad, evil Russia hosts, and it is nothing but scare stories on the "news". (I expected as much, being that "the west" hates Russia) Not to mention that the NHL never wanted their product (ie: the players) to go to Sochi in the first place in case they got injured, so it is no surprise that they would jump on any excuse they could to try to get the players to stay home.

No, I don't miss him. He wasn't a good fit here, and was often a detriment to the team due to his small size and getting constantly knocked off the puck by everyone else on the ice. FYI, for anyone in Toledo or anyone else on buckeye cable... While the HD cable channels are still messed up and blacked out, I just realized that for whatever reason, the regular, non-HD channels are still working, and the game can be seen there...
