I do NOT think Franzen is faking it, but just to bring up a little point "devils advocate" style in response to the comment above... Lets not forget that we were/are almost all (myself included) universally convinced that Sammy and his agent were lying about his boobie still being hurt so he could avoid a buyout and collect the extra million dollars on his contract. For a player to lie/fake/exaggerate injuries is not unheard of. Just to once again point out, I am not saying this is the case here with Franzen. EDIT: the person I was responding to deleted their comment, if you were wondering what I was talking about, lol.

Franzen has clearly had problems "processing information on the ice" for a couple years now. And I say that in seriousness, not joking around. Glad he is finally admitting something is wrong.

How come when our guys get frustrated and lose their cool now they just end up doing dumb s***. What happened to the Wings of a few years ago? When those guys got frustrated, they came at you hard and physical, but clean, and used the anger as motivation to put up a few points. Now they just either give up, or do stupid s*** and take penalties and dig their hole deeper.

The way Rafalski talked around his retirement, reading between the lines, I always got the impression he didn't really want to retire, but his wife wanted him to, and he was just trying to be the good husband and please her. BTW, Howard, I don't think they had to release him to play in the ECHL, just to play in Florida since he lives there now and didn't want to come back up to play for Toledo.

And the Wings get scored on yet again due to an absolutely horrible call. I'm glad the announcers at least took the time to show the replay and state how absurd that call was. And called by a ref 100 feet away, in a snow storm, with 3 inches of snow on the ice no less... Ridiculous. Those are the exact type of calls that spawn all of the conspiracy theories fans like to throw around.

Gotta love the special treatment the Pens always get since they are the league darlings. Thornton, a first time offender gets an absurd 15 games for a gloved love tap, while the Pens players never seem to get more than 5 games, despite the fact they are repeat offenders for dirty HEAD shots, the thing the league always claims they want to get rid of...

In the last 4 games completely obviously blown calls by horrible refs have cost us THREE goals. That is absolutely ******* absurd. Its gotta some sort of record.

In response to Detroit #1 (cause the quote function is still broken for whatever reason for me) Not only that, but the league feels that this is 15 games, but Emery attacking someone the same way except with gloves OFF, which is worse, is worthy of zero games. The league is a complete joke when it comes to suspensions.

GTFO Neal only got 5 games for his knee to the head, which was way worse than what Thornton did, so anything MORE than 5 games for Thornton is a joke. Edit: though the NHL in general is a complete joke when it comes to discipline, and their complete hypocrisy when handing out discipline, so I fully expect Thornton to get 10, maybe more. We'll have to wait until Shanny spins his wheel of justice to see what happens.

Your initial post implied you though Murph was fired specifically to bring Osgood in. Osgood was brought in because they needed someone to fill in Murphs spot after they had fired him.
