Man, Chris Phillips looks older than my father, and my father is in his 60s! 32 years old?!?! Damn...
-
Does he? Or was this just mandatory rehab forced onto him by the team or the league? I'm betting it was mandatory and forced on him, especially with the short amount of time he was in rehab for.

I love the "which city deserves an NHL franchise" question. lol Edit; I actually looked at the poll. I didn;t realize it was a "second team" I thought they were just cracking on Toronto reading the first post here.

I pretty much agree with the consensus. I like him. I think he is a great value for the money, and is doing the job expected of him. I also agree with the consensus about Lilja too. I like the "he is no Lilja" comments. Yeah, hes not. He is a better player, a better value for the money, and doesn't have concussion problems. I think people seem to be living in/thinking of the past and imagining pre-concussion Lilja or something. That Lilja is gone, and will never return.

Lol, thats sad. And while Helm is no doubt quick as hell on a break away and whatnot, I am not so sure how well being the fastest skater in a straight line, would translate if he had to race around the entire perimeter of the ice surface like the do in the ASG skills.

Yeah, we wouldn't want anyone to get their poor widdle feewings to get hurt by being picked last, now...
-
I haven't read through the whole thread, so this may have already been mentioned, but... Man, Richards looked like he was drunk to me. Dude was all wobbly on stage and looked like he might fall, then he couldn't stop drinking from that water bottle the whole time once he was up in the bleechers.

Anyone else like me and looking forward to the draft more than the actual game?

Ducks Sued for Anti-Semitism by Former Draft Pick

Well...him going out and sueing them right away isn't really disproving the whole "jews are all about money and lawyers" myth... (Its called a joke, people. No hatemail, please) -

Yeah he did. He threw 2 punches. Just becasue his gloves were on, doesn't mean they weren't punches. Sidenote; And anyone who has been punched in the face with gloves before knows that s*** hurts a lot of times more than getting hit with a bare fist. (obviously, not in this case, lol)
-
What, Leafs forums? lol You start throwing punches like a big boy, you gotta be prepared to back that s*** up like a big boy too. Kulemin learned an important lesson today.

Here is a link to a vid.

Nah, I dont kerr who ya err. Dat derrs funny! Pierre must have some good connects high up, cause I've never once talked to anyone that liked that creepy ******.
-
Actually, I think at this point it might just be best for him to not report. Even though the Isles suck and it wouldn't be his fault, you just know motherf***ers, and especially Snow, Wang, etc. would be blaming him anyway saying he was losing just out of spite for the team and what happened. Especially with all the aftermath of what has happened up from the point the Wings signed him until now.
-
Well, his name is wang. What'd you expect?
-
Lol, I didn't see anyone freaking out or getting their panties in a knot. No need to get so overdramatic.
-
I like Wangs delusional response; "I don't see why somebody who has this opportunity would not want to play and fulfill his contract. It's nuts, right. I don't understand any of it" Uh...you really don't see why an aging goalie who wanted to make, what, who knows, could be one last run at the cup, wouldn't want to play for a team who has no chance of making the playoffs? You don't understand why he wouldn't want to leave his family and the warmth of sunny California to come to gloomy, cold ass New York to play for a team he thinks sucks and doesn't want to play for, won't make the finals, for a mere quarter mil, when dude has tens of millions already? Really???
-
I read this earlier, and more or less, it sums up how I feel. The Isles took Nabokov for no other reason than to stick it to the other teams in the league, so they couldn't get him. http://www.mc79hockey.com/?p=3564
-
Lol, do you honestly think NY was the only team that put a claim in on him? I GUARANTEE you at least a dozen teams put claims in on him at the bargain basement price, of basically free. Wings had no chance, at least this season, of getting him.
-
I'd comment, but every comment I've made about bad reffing since I've been a member here has just been deleted... As I assume this one will too... *sigh*

OK, I'm obviously playing devils advocate here, and going out on a limb, but, we only have the details revealed so far, which may be right or wrong at this point, but are; big hockey player out of nowhere manhandles girl and picks her into the air, girl slaps hockey player for manhandling her and lifting her into air, hockey player hauls off and hits here. She is at fault so far, according to the details we have, according to you. (again, just playing devils advocate) So if you were to be walking down a dark street at night, and I, a large man, jumped out of nowhere and tackled you, for who knows what reason, and you slapped me, I would be in the right in I threw a punch to your face (which, being my size vs yours, would likely shatter several of your facial bones) and I would be totally in the right since a "lift" or "tackle" is not really a hit, only a slap or punch can be considered as a first hit, and I was just reacting to you assaulting me after I innocently tackled you.. (again, obviously going the extreme route and just playing devils advocate, but this is what it sounds like you are saying)
-
Now, that can't be safe... lol Sweet pic though!
-
I'm sure a lot of other teams also put in claims. With NJ saying early they had no interest, I pretty much knew he would be going to NY, as they were next in line, and with such a cheap contract, they have nothing to lose by signing him.
-
Well, it was 100% obvious he wouldn't make it through waivers, so the wait was just to see which other team ended up claiming him.
