That non call on the trip was absurd, especially considering it led to a goal. The reffing in the NHL is so completely inconsistent its a joke. It takes a lot of fun out of watching the games, imo. In so many games now it seem you have a 50/50 chance of whether a team wins by hard work and skill or blown calls an non-calls by the refs...

The league or Voynov? This case is weird to begin with. Voynov claims he is innocent as does his wife, and there is no evidence either way. Then you have a DA who seems to just want to get in the press and make a name for himself, and decided to file charges anyway. I dunno...

Nail biter for sure. Glad Petr got a chance to redeem himself after that bad 1st and 3rd goal. Like others, while I had hope, I wasn't quite sure what would happen this season, but am being pleasantly surprised almost weekly.

To the guy above saying that they don't fault Mrazek except for the third goal, what about the first goal? If he wasn't busy looking straight down at the ice nodding and "headbanging" trying to throw his helmet off to draw a whistle, that would have been an easy save. No different than the goalies who dive and flop around on the ice trying to draw an interference penalty that the refs don't buy, and get scored on because of it , IMO.

Really happy for Weiss. I never understood the overwhelming amount of hate he gets on here. While he isn't the savior of this team or anything, he is a decent player for the contract we got him for. Not to mention, he was injured all of last season, and Babcock has pretty much flat out refused to give him a chance this season, for whatever reason. Hope he keeps it going. (that is, if Babs even gives him a chance to)

This doesn't even look like the same team we saw two nights ago. Wings are looking slow, and apathetic, stick handling is sloppy, they look confused and disorganized, and when they don't they look like they just don't care. Hopefully Babcock can light a fire under their ass during intermission. If not, then, well...

I thought the same thing, lol. I got so used to seeing the GDT that when I didn't see one a little bit ago, I had to double check the tv listing to make sure there actually was a game today and I didn't mix up the dates.

Its unfortunate that whenever anyone is accused of something, that there is a group of people that immediately grab the pitchforks and torches and start chanting "guilty" with zero facts at all. Lets be rational and reserve judgement until the facts are in.

Gotta feel kinda bad for the guy. This is like Tootoo all over again. Holland signs him to a decent enough contract, and he has the potential to contribute positively to the team, but for whatever reason Babcock has some sort of beef with him and flat out refuses to play him.

Just jumping in here, I don't really even know what everyones current beef is...BUT... I definitely think that in the past year or two that this has become by FAR the most heavily censored and overly moderated sites on the web that I visit. @krsmith17 If you (or anyone else) can't use the quote function and are having problems, you should contact the admins and let them know. I have had the same problem for like a year now, but they told me it must just be me since nobody else contacted them. If enough people having the quote (or lack thereof) problem and report it to them, maybe they can figure it out and fix it.

And hockey fans complain about refs being crooked and on the take in certain instances now.... If Vegas gets a team, its almost a 100% guarantee that refs will be paid off and games fixed. That's the only reason Vegas even exists...betting.

Hilarious gif! To answer the OP though... Hindsight is always 20/20. Even at his current contract vs. points/goals produced, Franzen is a good deal. People like to forget that because he is streaky and admittedly looks lazy as f*** out there a lot of the time. Name another player that can consistently put up those numbers at his cap hit though. Can't. Its not possible in the current NHL. Filppula has great potential, but for whatever reason was unable to reach it with us. To say Weiss is half the player is silly. You are seriously going to judge him as a hockey player based on one season where he played the first half severely injured, and had to leave for surgery the second? Come on... Its way to early to speak on Weiss as a Wing. Tootoo was bought out as a courtesy to him, so he could continue his NHL career (if a team picks him up) instead of being buried in the minors. And you didn't even mention Quincey or Cleary. Those are the two players that are going to handicap the team this season. (not to mention they are both getting absurd paychecks for sucking)
