Regardless of whether that was a deflection Emmerton and Eaves played that very well. Making it as difficult for Raycroft to see the puck as possible. And obviously can't forget Miller digging it out on the side and getting it to White... all in all, a pure effort goal.

Really need a W here to get on the right track again, and it's gonna have to start by scoring at least three. With the forwards we have it's pretty inexcusable to be #27 in the league in scoring.

I feel like given the huge contracts defensemen have been getting lately this is a good deal for us. Obviously he'll slow down towards the end of the term and won't be worth that cap hit in today's numbers anymore, but seven years is a long time and if the cap keeps going up the relative value of the contract will go down. So I'm really happy about this one.

Well hell, I've had a busy week and haven't been able to watch games since the Caps blowout last weekend and they go and do this? Now I'm sad Anyway, I can't really comment too much on what's going wrong as I didn't actually see the games, but I will say that I still think we're going to be ok because the team that played those first five games was one of the better teams in the league. We just have to get back to that standard of play.

An amazing number for sure. An interesting fact I read somewhere about this is that Nick will be the third ever player to play over 1500 games and only play for one team in his entire career, and the other two have also been Wings (Delvecchio and Yzerman). Ray Bourque is the only player to have played over 1500 games for a single franchise that isn't the Red Wings, with Howe also joining into that 4 (now 5 with Nick) player group. Pretty impressive in my opinion, and really just says something about this organisation and the respect it has always shown to those who served it well. Let's have a good one for el Capitan!

The team as a whole has been playing so well it's not surprising to see individual performances bolstered as well. We'll have a much better idea after 20 games or so when there'll be bad games in the sample as well. That said, so far so good and if Hudler plays even close to this level consistently he's well worth his contract. Personally I expect a swingy season that ends with 55-65 points with 20+ goals if he stays healthy.

Great game overall. Jimmy, Helm, Abby and White have been the most positive players for me this season but I have to agree with whoever said that the main thing is nobody played bad.

When you're running well you might as well run really well. Whev.

Jimmy just keeps impressing, started playing like a real #1 goalie last spring and is on the same track now. Now we just have to reward him by scoring a few.

Damn. Guess the shutout was too much to ask. Bit of a lucky bounce but I guess we've been lucky enough this game already
