I saw an interesting interview with Messier... he blames some of it on not hitting enough when kids are young. Says they grow up without knowing the fundamentals and don't have the instincts required to protect themselves. I'm paraphrasing of course... interesting take on a complicated issue.

I'm a little surprised/disappointed by the Chara nomination but honestly won't be upset with either Lids or Weber getting the nod.

No team really scares me, though I think it's going to be a tough road to the cup regardless of who we end up playing. This is why I love hockey compared to basketball, every team can actually play and even the 1 vs 8 matchups are competitive.
