Flyers agree to terms with Del Zotto

With Del Zotto I see a guy who had 2 good seasons very early, followed by 2 bad seasons and is now 24 (Total of 4 full seasons) With Smith I see a guy who had 1 bad/ok (it's his first, it's hard to tell) season. and is now 25 DZ has proved more, but is also trending downward very badly. Smith has been sheltered, but it remains to be seen if he's a producer or not. I'd rather take a chance on Smith IMO, but I understand the other side of the coin too.

Kimmo Timomen diagnosed with several blood clots

It sucks it's not fair. Konstantinov going down. Fischer going down. Peverley, Timonen, Savard. I feel for all of them, especially the ones who don't get a come back.

Brother, stop living in fear of The Andreas Lilja. Embrace him as the best fighter of all time and you shall be spared of his wrath.

Larkin and Turgeon make U20 cuts

Was reading up on our prospects and saw that the Hampus was diagnosed with a respiratory disease this last season! Why did it have to be him???

Larkin and Turgeon make U20 cuts

I'm thinking Turgeon could be our diamond in this draft. The initial reports were that he doesn't project higher than a 3rd line C, and no one was really thrilled when we got him with that pick other than the obligatory father mentions. However, the draft mastermind Wings made a play in order to select him in the draft, which makes me think they see a possible diamond in the kid. Now he achieves this right after being selected

Predictions for the DRW 2014-15 Season!

Idk, there D still looks awful, and I don't think either goalie is gonna hold up with that group

Who is YOUR most under-appreciated/unsung Red Wing?

Lilja didn't have to fight that much cause everyone was afraid of him. Plus Babs doesn't like his Dmen to fight... If Lilja had played wing he would have wrecked shop

I think all our fighters are underrated. Probert, Kocur, McCarty, Lilja, Downey, and Tootoo

Confused on the direction of this team going forward

I'll say this, Hedman, Giordano, Vlasic, and Niskanen all finished higher in Norris voting than Kronwall, OEL, and Subban this year. I thought that was insulting to those 3 players as I believe they all played better than the first 4.

Confused on the direction of this team going forward

I was trying to be sarcastic, but yes I agree. I think Degrass backed himself into a corner by claiming that only 2-3 players are elite at their position. Heck I think there's at least 5 "elite"goalies in this league. And since there's 30 starting goalies in this league that means that theirs 60 top pairing D-men, and I believe at least 6 or 7 could be considered elite. And When it comes to forwards there's even more. I don't think the term elite should ever be pigeon-holes into one specific number. Personally I consider D and Z very elite, Kronwall no. Very proficient, but not a game-changer.

Candiens, P.K. Subban agree to 8 year contract

Subban is aggressive and emotional on the ice. Some people think that translates to the locker room, and those are people called... RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAscals

Confused on the direction of this team going forward

Kronwall isn't elite because he has never been one of the top 2-3 D-men in the league. Datsyuk and Zetterberg are still elite because at one point they were the top 2-3 in the league, until they declined to where they weren't, but sometimes they can still play at that level. Thus they are elite. What aren't you following?

Who is YOUR most under-appreciated/unsung Red Wing?

Kozlov and Larionov were both overshadowed by Fedorov, Vladdy, and Fetisov while they were here, despite both being extremely good hockey players
