Stupid girlfriend just HAD to watch some dumb drama show. How did Smith look in the 1st?
-
Jurco - 54 hits in 26 games You guys are right, he hits more than I thought he did. He's on pace for 170 hits in a full regular season. Gotta think he can get over 200 in a season with more icetime EDIT: Just saw your post Dickie

Is the Real Brendan Smith Finally Starting the Show Up?
number9 replied to NYC Wings Fanatic's topic in General
Even if Smith turns out to be better at forward, this just means even less depth at D *sigh* -
Really? He's not a hitter IMO
-
And what was so bad about his game? As Harold pointed out, none of the goals were his fault, and he wasn't "minus 3" as you suggested. Kronwall IMO is particularly good at D. Rarely do you see D zone mistakes from him.
-
Kip I almost always agree with u but NO MORE FORWARDS
-
That lazy mule calling out the team, trying to be a leader, on pace for 70 + points, did I mention he's lazy?
-
Big strong and scores more than Luker
-
Sick joke. Now in hindsight Holland looks like a G for signing so many forwards.
-
Ah yeah thanks for clarifying, I only glanced at the list. So when are we gonna sign Jake Chelios?
-
Z is pretty smart for not having attended college. Although having money goes a long way in terms of being able to be business savy
-
Well I don't always trust hockey's future, but they listed him as the top college FA this year. Above the haggerty guy that NYR promised NHL playing time.
-
I was keen on both Wisniewski and Ehrhoff that year and both their rights got traded around. Was disappointing.
-
Ehrhoffs rights got traded around that year and he never hit FA. I doubt holland would ever trade for a players rights

None of us can say fersure what caliber of player any of them will be. We can all agree they're capable 3rd liners right now. Is there a chance some will become 2nd line caliber? Yes. Is there a chance some will become 1st liners? Yes. The chance of being a 1st liner is slimmer but the chance is still there. Jurco is 21 for Pete's sake. He's just getting a taste and has been dependable, and still has around 5 years to grow and mature. He's big, fast, skilled. Got to think he has a lot of potential to rise above the 3rd line. Tatar's 23, still 3 years to grow, and he's been reportedly ready for NHL duty long b4 this year. His puck possession isn't great, and isn't outstanding at D yet, but wow is he dynamic, hard working, and hungry. I see him wanting to be a high caliber star more than any of them. Nyquist is the oldest and best all around. Right now he feeds off guys like Zetterberg and Franzen and has lots of success. I see him being mentored by a guy like Z to become another leader on this team, much like how Z himself was mentored by our other past vets. Sheahan has surprised me the most. Many said he was a career 3rd line C, but he's having a lot of success at that very early. Gotta think there's a possibility he can grow into a 2nd line roll

What did we do to deserve this? We don't play a hard-nose injury prone style. Teams push us around but rarely injury us on the ice during play. Who's blood must we sacrifice to end this curse?

Klesla is retired from the NHL, seeking work in Europe

DeKeyser and Lashoff were even last night, guess they shoulda been our top pair eh rich?EDIT: a little light reading for you, http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capitals-insider/wp/2013/11/30/in-nhl-plus-minus-rating-can-be-deceiving/ and http://blogs.edmontonjournal.com/2013/05/13/just-how-horse-s***-is-the-nhls-official-plus-minus-stat/

Sounds like another possible Glendening? His O numbers really aren't outstanding for college
-
Love the win by howgood tonight
-
Would have been the best D pairing of all time. Vladdy would have been the yang to Nicks ying.

ANH - Hiller (Hate rest of team, but always liked him) BOS - Krug (Go Green) BUF - Girgensons (Plays balls to the wall) DAL - Peverley (Always loved him, not just sad for his health) CBJ - Wisniewski (Big Whalers fan) COl - Duchene (his highlights are amazing) CGY - Hudler (I also enjoy hookers) DET - Everyone (even Cleary) EDM - Their next 1st round pick FLA - Weiss (yes) CHI - Sharp (Respect for a Wing killer) LA - Brown (America, f*** yeah) NSH - Rinne (best in the league) TBL - Gudas (OMG physical) NYR - McDonagh (incredibly underrated even for the praise he gets) NYI - Martin (machine) MTL - Subban (don't agree with the locker room cancer rumors) PHI - Hartnell (bring back the hair) NJ - Jagr (have you seen his numbers at 42?) STL - Miller (Go White) TOR - Kessel (Cool dude) VAN - Torts (great enforcer) OTT - Neil (the type I wish Cleary was) PIT - Malkin (Crosby's less douchey half) PHX - Doan (shouldn't have to explain why) SJ - Hertl (fun to watch) WPG - Ladd (another guy I wish Cleary could be) WSH - Ovi (crazy player, crazy guy) CAR - Brindamour (miss him, go green) MIN - Heater (50 in 07)
-
But but but he played good with Lidstrom in that one all-star game...
-
With our current young players, young players coming up, and future signings, the most expendable pieces to me are Andersson and Miller. Andersson + Miller + pick for Ehroff? Heck we managed to package waiver clearing Eaves in a deal, though I know that was most likely just to clear roster space
-
If we sign him and he's legit, and Mantha comes up and he's legit, then next year we would have to start trading forwards. We would be even more ridiculously deep than we are this year. Even after losing Bertuzzi, Cleary, and maybe Alfredsson
