Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

Quincey is actually only 3rd on the teams D in giveaways (Smith 39, Kronwall 33, Quincey 32, Kindl 31, Ericsson 30). He's also played more games than any other D-man on our team... suggesting that his giveaway's per-game is lower than most of our other D (I don't wanna compute the numbers, but I believe that math makes sense). More, Quincey is also leading our D in take-aways (Quincey 27, Kronwall 20, Smith 14, Lashoff 13, Ericsson 12, Kindl 12). More, Quincey is also 1st among our D in even strength ice time, 2nd among our D in shorthanded ice time, and only has 23 minutes on the PP... suggesting that his giveaways and takeaway numbers are better per minute than our other d-men. Is Quincey good? No. But he's not a horrible ball and chain like everyone suggests. We brought him in for a first at the deadline and he wasn't the savior everyone hoped for, and he gets crucified for it. He's just another Eaves. Good? No. Bad? No. Just blahhhhhhhhh Datsyuk is arguably the best 1st line center when HEALTHY. Trade him too? I do like Ehrhoff's contract -

Helm is arguably the best 3rd line center in the league. He does that job better than anyone. I don't see the point in moving the best 3rd line center in a package deal to get an "ok" top sixer. I understand it's an upgrade to have another top sixer, I'd just rather see the best pieces in the right places. This is never going to be a 2003 team where everyones a top guy. Know what I mean? Idk... screw you guys, helm is the man -
Just ditch our first rounder already ken

Trade deadline fast approaching - who should we target?

This isn't random third line center were talking about. It's Darren Helm. One of the fastest and most defensively responsible centers in the game. Liked and respected by teammates. Liked and respected by management and the coaches. Loved by fan base. He IS our bottom 6. He won't be traded just like Draper was never traded. Expendable? IMO he's one of our bright spots... -

Ehrhoff would be a major upgrade -
.... That your beating a dead horse. Thought his pic illustrated that quite well

I think Stewart has the potential to be a lot better than Ott. Regardless, let's say they're equally valuable, long term value still went to buffalo

Carrier was. 2nd round pick last year. Halak < Miller Stewart > Ott 1st > 1st or 3rd > Carrier >

Trial date set in Steve Moore’s lawsuit against Todd Bertuzzi

That's why Bertuzzi hired a pro liar (lawyer) -
Well of course. That's the nature of these deals. They're stacked now but they just potentially subtracted 3 top prospects from their pool. Imagine if we lost Pulkinnen, Mantha, and Jarnkrok right now. Anyway not saying it's a bad move. Right now it's a great move, who knows how the future will turn out.

Yeah not gonna say Blues got fleeced but value went to the seller per usual

Don't think he's on the block -
Not at all what I was suggesting. Going from a .5 ppg player to 1.2 ppg player is a big increase. Shows he can score. Just ignore the rest of my points thou

Pretty much, otherwise he'd have to prove some sort of negligence or criminal intent. However, I believe the damages he's seeking involves future earnings. He's trying to make Bertuzzi and the nucks pay for the money's he would have likely earned later in his career. Of course he doesn't know how his future career would have gone so the parties will likely settle for an amount smaller than 38. -
Again... Don't care where CSS ranked him. Wings have their own rankings with better scouts. That's how we draft so well. Tyler went from 0.5 pts per game his draft year to 1.2 ppg this year. Obviously they saw potential that the CSS didn't see. I have no doubt that played a role. Was that the only reason? Heck no. The wings are running a business not a charity. Tyler is an Avery type guy. Having big Bert in house to keep a tight leash on him and teach him some class is a big advantage. Plus mini Bert has shown he can score at high level now too.

It's not like the Wings drafted Bertuzzi thinking he was gonna be a top liner one day. They expect him to play third/fourth line. I don't really care what he was ranked by CSS either. The Wings have their own ranking based on a better scouting staff. You look at guys like Tuzzi, Mantha, Athanasiou, Nastasiuk, and they aren't ranked that high in their respective rounds, then they get drafted by the wings and they explode. They see things in certain players that other teams don't. I'm guessing they projected Bertuzzi to be an exceptional gritty bottom 6 player.

Speculation that he may want to go to CBJ (went to OSU). I know he's from Livonia but seriously don't like that guy. Saw him and Chris Conner at a tigers game two summers ago, he's tall but honestly not that big. Makes me think his physicality is overrated
