I wouldn't call Tyutin's comments awful, but yeah definitely strong. First off he's biased. Varlamov is his friend, so he's obviously going to defend him. Second, he's foreign (I know he's spent a lot of time here), this isn't his home country or the laws he grew up with, so he may not appreciate or understand them like some of us do. That being said, he's not entirely wrong. The system has been abused by SOME women. No system is perfect. All-in-all, Tyutin took a pretty extreme stance and probably should have just kept his mouth shut. The courts will figure this out and we'll see if Varly is truly at fault in due time.

Shanny and Perry are top flight power forwards. Mantha has been exclusivley described as a pure goal scorer, or sniper if you will. "When a player with a big strong frame like Mantha doesn't use his size on the boards consistently it raises a red flag." Shanny and Perry are not supposed to be hitters you're correct there, but they were still physical guys with a lot of PIMs, and at least Perry (I don't have the stats for Shanny) averages about a hit a game. Last season Mantha only had 3 fights, so I don't know why you think he will be dropping the gloves all the time in the near future. He's a Daniel Sedin type. Fast, smart, talented, not physical.

I'm not arguing that. I'm saying Weiss was the #1 center on a terrible team and Filppula was the #2/#3 center on one of the best teams. Weiss is inflated bc of his TOI and deflated because the team around him was awful. Fil is inflated bc the team around him was awesome and deflated bc he played less of role on the team bc of that. In my book it kind of evens out. I give Weiss the edge however. Proven he's capable on a top line. Experienced captain. Scores more. Scores consistently. Why Weiss is cold now and Fil is hot now we don't know. Could be a million different reasons or just plain luck. Hudler is out scoring most of the league right now and Mike Smith has more goals than Giroux. Saying we should have kept Fil over Weiss this early is wayyyy too soon IMO.

Weiss has scored more and much more consistently. Sure he was a number 1 center, but he was also on arguably the worst team in the league all those years, while Fil has been on a championship caliber team his entire career. Funny how you talk about Fil and his success as a 2nd line center here, and now suddenly he's in a 6th and 7th role

Arguing adjustment to either team is dumb. We have no idea why one is producing right now and the other is not. There are a million different reasons why Fil is doing great and there are a million different reasons why Weiss has had no luck. But we don't kno those reasons. Weiss could get hot and Fil could go cold tmrw and we wouldn't know why. What we do know is both are very talented players and we can probably expect both to finish the season with similar numbers. I personally like Weiss better, Fil wasn't having success here and we needed to try something new. Weiss has experience as a top line center and captain, I'm sure he'll pull around if LGW can retain some level of patience

It's tradition, and we can't sit around and sing 5 or 6 national anthems each game, so they sing canada and America cause that's where the league is based and the fans that are attending are from. Side note, I love love love the canada national anthem, think it's the best sounding (I'm American)
