Huh? You have no idea how, or how much, Tatar will play. Simple as that. -
... so you haven't seen much I take it?

How so? If Tatar out competes Cleary/Samuelsson and other wings he will end up playing over them. He'll have to earn it, but Babs is pretty fair. He's not going to last long here bc Sammys on the team? What? Makes no sense. I'm sure Cleary will be re-signed after this season, but unless they play there butts off Sammy won't, Alfredsson won't, Bertuzzi won't, Eaves won't, and Emmerton won't. So I fail to see the issue. There should be plenty of forward space to work with next off-season. -

And how exactly do u see that happening? Sorry, but signing Alfredsson, Weiss, Extending Datsyuk, signing Cleary to a bargain contract, and locking up our RFA's - aka the "promosing talent" you eluded to - is not a bad or even mediocre off-season. Nyquist is the only one being forced down, but he'll be back as soon as injuries, demotions, and trades roll in. -

for a soon to be 37 yr old who's already won the cup he might not have a problem sitting at home and collecting a check until July. And it'd be a good way to spite the team that signed you and then tried to strong arm you off the team a year later. Regardless, "accept a trade or don't play" would very much tarnish the red wings reputation as a destination in the eyes of every free agent. Not a very Holland/Wings esque move to say the least. -

Did everyone forget he has an NTC? The only way he gets traded is if he WANTS to be traded. And it's probably going to be tough to convince a guy that he wants to be traded off a team that's projected to be competing with the Bruins for dominance in the East and is loaded with his countrymen. And if for some bizarre reason he did decide he wanted to be traded he would basically get to pick the team he wants to play for and Holland would have to bend to that teams will in trade talks. So no, Samuelsson will not be traded. The only way he'll be "off" this team is if he gets seriously injured and goes on LTIR or we warp through time an it suddenly becomes July 2014. -
Signed Cleary re-signs with Detroit, 1 year, $1.75m deal

So basically Eaves or Toots is going to hit waivers if we can't trade em. -
Is Tatar waiver exempt?

I have a ton of respect for any player who takes that big of pay cut (and on a short deal) to stay in Detroit. Say what you will about the roster and cap situation, but Cleary is a one loyal Wing. -
I wouldn't call NJ atrocious. Even w/o Kovy they're a dangerous team. Very underrated despite financial problems. Plus Jagr will probably get good minutes with Zajac and some other emerging good players

http://www.capgeek.com/cap-calculator/roster/32022 Don't know if that link will work, on my phone. But on capgeek I demoted Adam Hall and Marc Andre Bourdon and signed Cleary. Leaving the Flyers with 4.1 million in cap space. Not to shabby for them actually
-
Nope, theyre definitely under with Pronger on LTIR. Under by almost 3 million. And they have quite a few extra forwards and D-men that arnt that special. So by waiving 2 of them and signing Cleary, they'll probably end up with around 2 million in cap space.
-
Now if the Flyers can just get a goalie they'll win the cup
-
Did anyone purchase the game? interested to know the player types and overall stats of all the Red Wings
-
So now that Cleary is really not coming back... We can send Emmerton and Lashoff down to GR to start the season and we'll have just over 600K in cap space and a 23 man roster. No trades necessary.
-
Flyers will have around 2 million in cap space left once they send a few players to the minors/waivers and put Pronger back on LTIR.

Bettman getting a raise (again) 8 - 8,3 million in 2012 - 2013

Sure he's the represents the owners collectively, but there were 6 teams including Detroit that voted against the lockout. I just don't feel a lockout every 6 years is what's best for a sport that's not the most popular Leagues fault really -
Ok look at 2011-12. Cleary averaged 1.44 TOI less than Franzen. Cleary had a S% of 6 and Franzen had 13.7. Again, the only one to outshoot the Mule was Z and they were both Clearly our most dominant shooters. Confidence in shot is not the issue here.
-
Can't argue there. Cleary was our poor mans homer replacement. Though I'm of the opinion that Abby has no place in the top 6. Franzen just isn't physically aggressive enough to play that role it seems

The entire team has been falling apart, not just the jerseys. I hope Ruff wrecks shop under Nill in Dallas
