Jokinen, Wallace have been placed on waivers by Canes. — Chip Alexander (@ice_chip) ' class="bbc_url">@ Jokinen, Wallace have been placed on waivers by Canes. — Chip Alexander (@ice_chip) Jokinen is a 2nd/3rd line sniper, I for one would love to claim him. Although he is another softy euro.

Nyquist - Zetterberg - Tatar Pretty good top line for the Griffins....
-
Watch him sign with Yzerman because Stevie's his favorite Red Wing of all time *face palm*

The more I read about DeKeyser the more I want him. I keep hearing "phenomenal skater" "extremely hard and accurate shot from the point" "sound positionally in the defensive zone" yes, yes, and yes? Also he's 23. Nyquist is 23 and Lashoff is 22. He's likely nearing the end of development, so he could very well be ready for NHL time.

I hate hate hate that I don't live in Grand Rapids anymore. Really wanna see Jarnkrok play
-
will he have to clear re-entry waivers if he gets his crap together in the AHL? Or can they wait till the playoffs and call him up with no waivers?
-
Wow, Jokinen clears.
-
He's having a down year, but he's usually around a 50 pt guy. Still fairly young too. 3 mil contract till 2014. Could be worth it
-
Surprised they couldn't get anything for him in a trade

Quincey and Colo ARE our deadline acquistions -
These days you never know. I mean even friggin Paul Gaustad netted a 1st rounder last year. Quincey was worth a 1st rounder too. I could a see a a team coughin up 2 prospects and a pick for Iggy. Probably won't be us though.

Talked to an exec this am and said asking price to high for Iginla. #1 pick, Top prospect, and a secondary prospect. — Matthew Barnaby (@MattBarnaby3636) ' class="bbc_url">@ Talked to an exec this am and said asking price to high for Iginla. #1 pick, Top prospect, and a secondary prospect. — Matthew Barnaby (@MattBarnaby3636) Would probably cost us a 1st, Nyquist, and (insert random prospect), if there's any truth to that

Larry can't sit between the benches because he has to sit on the bench with his new 17 games for 17 dollar dogs contract
-
Hedman - Gudas Carle - Sustr Barberio - Koekkoek TBL defense in a few years. Looks good.

The only real tradeable piece we have is Fil and the likelihood of a late first rounder turning out to be as good as him is slim. And he's still young so I'd rather keep him. We have the good prospect pool we need already. If anything this is going to be a team that adds a few pieces at the deadline. Imagine this team with Iginla. Our chances for a deep run would be much better No ones taking on Franzen's contract. Cleary has an NTC. And the rest of those guys don't have much value besides Fil

No one is calling Ericsson a "great" defenseman. A great d man is great in both ends. E is a shut down guy, he's not expected to produce like u keep saying. He's done almost a 180 from how he played last year. He's also on a career high point pace on top of shutting guys down in his own end. If you're really using plus minus to judge his d abilities then maybe u need to catch a few more games instead of crymson EDIT: Grammar

Ericsson is better than komisarek at this point and is living up to the money

Hypothetical- 2004 Draft, Canucks take Franzen, Wings get Edler
number9 replied to a topic in General
Exactly. Elder might suite us better now but we wouldn't gotten th cup in 08. Pretty hard to foresee raffi and Stuart leaving way back then -
Noooo one of the most overplayed dmen

Selanne hints at retirement still being far off
number9 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Eh they could. Koivu and Selanne will both be taking pay cuts if they decide to keep them. They'd be at the hilt but it could be done -

How could anyone not love the guy. The dude loves playing hockey. It's not his best year so far this year, but he's still on a good pace. -
Na, I don't see either or those happening really. Both are still real young. Both need to bulk up more yet. Both haven't played any NA game at all, besides Almqvist's half season. Just can't see the Wings doin it.

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=660965&navid=nhl:topheads Bump. Just saw that NHL.com had an NCAA free agent article up and that Dekeyser and Sustr topped the list. I'm glad the two guys were gunning for are at the top of the list, and I feel like we have a good shot at bringing them in. Dekeyser for obvious reasons, but I think we have a good shot at Sustr too. This is storied franchise, so we have that to attract them. Holes in our defense, so we have that to attract them. And this team seems to be going through a Czechoslovakian movement, which he is, Tatar, Jurco, Kindl, Mursak (Slovenian), Mrazek, Frk, Tvrdon, Nedomlel, Nestrasil, If Brunner can choose us, he could easily choose us.
