I'm with Mike on this one. Don't know how anyone can say they've seen CHL and NCAA and think NCAA is better. Peace.
-
Come to think of it I can't think of any who move from the CHL to the NCAA, anybody know of any? When a player moves from the NCAA to the CHL they are a year better than they were in the NCAA. Perhaps the older players play better defensively especially with the no fighting and icing College has gotten better but still does not produce the quantity and caliber of the CHL
-
Again, I would love for you to prove that that is true.
-
I would argue a lot of those younger CHL'ers are farther along in their development than most older NCAA players despite the fact that they are younger
-
Yours would make sense, but your assuming they score more because the competition is weaker, and your assuming the competition is weaker because they're younger. Totally different games, and CHL is way more similar to pro hockey
-
Again scoring more has nothing to do with how good the hockey is.
-
Ok you named 3 players. That proves nothing. Look at Jeff Skinner, He was 18 in the NHL. Came out of the CHL. Being older after moving to the Juniors tends to make a difference
-
I'm actually excited they're giving Kindl a chance to really prove himself. Hope he steps up as a puck mover. To me it always just looked like someone needed to light a fire under his butt
-
Say's who? Do you have any stats to support that? age is a factor but the OHL has the better talent, IMO
-
How have you proven they were the 2 best defensive clubs? The only thing you've done is mention OUR defense and Howard. St. Louis was the best defensive club. #1 in fewest goals against and #1 in fewest shots allowed. Besides Doughty, Pietrangelo and Shattenkirk are more valuable than anyone in LA's or NJD's defense core
-
Jimmy Howard not a necessity? Ok.
-
Doughty is the clear Top2 D-man there, but Mitchell, Voynov, and Greene are all Top4, sometimes Top6 caliber players. They do have a good mix of physicality, skill, speed ect. though. Okkkkk That's great. I agree with you there. But again, I wasn't talking about Howard or our D.....was talking about NJD and LA. Following me?
-
What are you arguing against/about? Someone said something about not having size in the prospect pool, which isn't true, so I listed our sizable prospects. If you wanna show off your amateur scouting skills go to the prospects watch forum or something

Is this thread your personal blog? Before the ranting continues you might wanna check out the fact that we already have a top 10 ranked prospect pool http://www.hockeysfuture.com/team-rankings/
-
Uhhhhhh not sure what ur getting at cause I didn't say anything about our team. You claimed NJD and LA were the two best defensive squads, all I did was point out that you couldn't be more wrong.
-
Doughty-Mitchell Scuderi-Greene Voynov-Martinez Drewiske Volchenkov-Zidlicky Tallinder-Salvador Greene-Fayne Larsson 2 of the best defensive clubs? Did your mother shake you when you were a baby?
-
That's "rich". Glad you decided to make your way back to this forum. You always had so much great input.
-
You're opinion is wrong lol Scoring more has absolutely nothing to do with how good the hockey is. I rarely ever make it to NHL games and watch mostly CCHA and OHL games. OHL > NCAA every day of the week. College hockey has indeed gotten better, but is no way better than the CHL. Trying watching a game. NO HOCKEY FOR YOU, 5 YEAR

We signed a washed up Blues d-man to replace our other washed up blues D-man. Joy. No wonder we lost to the Blues -
Your bottom 6 is supposed to create energy, grind down the other team, and maybe score a little bit. Tootoo does all 3 of those things.
-
As to the comparison to John Scott. Yes Scott is HUGE and is a heavy weight fighter because of that, but he is a pylon, can't skate or score. Toots is smaller and not a heavy weight fighter, but he has wheels, is not a liability on deffense, and can actually shoot the puck somewhat decently, I mean he was good for 30 pts last year. But yes he is a pest, which is a dimension we haven't had on this team in a while.

Watch: Lashoff comes in, immediately becomes the new Stuart. Almqvist comes in, immediately becomes the new Lidstrom. D-fixed.
