An "All-Provincial" Team From Each Province

Ontario is the one obvious stand out to me. Maritimes and Manitoba look like they're on the low end. All the rest look like middle of the pack teams to me.
  3. "I know for a fact Russians will probably stay" - Zetterberg Kovalchuk and Ovechkin have shown interest in staying in the KHL after the work stoppage ends. Luckily Datsyuks agent has said Dats will be returning to Detroit after the lockout http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2012/10/10/zetterberg-on-players-returning-post-lockout-i-know-for-a-fact-russians-will-probably-stay/

    Sheahan arrested for "superdrunk" driving

I don't see what the big deal is. Sheahan was just tryin to toughen up. All the tough customers abuse drugs/alcohol. If you think this is bad wait till McKee gets here....

    Swiss League Topscorer Damien Brunner

Agreed. We might not have a big offensive defenseman like Yandle right now, but Kronners, Quincey, Smith, Coli, and White are decent puck movers, and that's 5/6 of our starting D-men. Plus all 5 of those guys play way more aggressive and physical than Yandle does. Hopefully Ericsson can develop into that defensive defenseman we need.... We seem to be trying to mold him into a Stuart. And Hopefully Smith develops into that go to offensive defenseman now that Lids and Raffi are gone.

AHL Goalie Rankings: GR Dead Last

Arrival of Mrazek has moved GR from last (#30) to #28. He's currently 6th in GAA and 5th in save% amongst AHL goalies http://www.thegoalieguild.com/ahlrankings/

    Swiss League Topscorer Damien Brunner

Yeah, and I also would have felt better with Ryan Suter on the PP, but it would've cost too much to get him.

Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Filppula/Franzen, Kronwall and White on our first PP unit? Omg we might as well start playing AHL teams

    Teemu Pulkkinen

friend of mine bar tends in GR and Glendening came into his bar the other day. Glendening said to him that Teemu's shot is the hardest shot he's ever seen while playing.

Kindl has 5 pts (all assists) in 16 games with Pardubice. He's also -7. Maybe we should let the lockout continue until he's ready to play hockey.

    Swiss League Topscorer Damien Brunner

Have you seen our depth at forward? We have too many forwards, most of which are skill players as well. Everyone complains about Hudler all year, then everyone complains about floating Franzen after that, and now you want to bring in a guy that is a combination of the two? I think the lockout has everyone going off their rockers lol. Edmonton in no way had good depth at forward when they demoted him.

    Swiss League Topscorer Damien Brunner

Plzzzzz say no to Omark. There's a reason Edmonton, yes EDMONTON, demoted him. He brings nothing to the table. Shows a flash of brilliance then skates around picking his nose for 20 straight games. Omark is doing well because of Diaz, Brunner, and Z, not the opposite.

Red Wings Off Season: I Give Them an A

Having speed doesn't make you good (see: Cory Emmerton) having speed and being able to use it does. I'm sure Damien has been fast for a while, but he's just now showing he can use it to produce. Late bloomer.

Red Wings Off Season: I Give Them an A

Well he is playing in the same league as Nash, Thornton, Spezza, Seguin, and Tavares, and he's out playing all of them.....and Zug isn't even a good team, yet he still out plays them. We'll see how the season comes along. Gives me some hope though. There's a reason this guy was pursued by a bunch of different teams.

Red Wings Off Season: I Give Them an A

are you joking? Filppula will demand somewhere between 4 and 5 if he stays on track (1-2 mil more) White is on a bargain contract right now and will probably get the same as Quincey (1 mil more) Howard is worth well beyond 2 mil. Probably should expect at least 4 for him (2 mil more) If Brunner turns out to be the real deal he'll probably expect something like Flips got on his first contract (2 mil more) We'll have to spend around 5-7 mil if those guys perform as expected and on your roster you have 2.5 to spend And I have not even gotten to RFA's yet, which will include Smith, Nyquist, and Kindl. All will be lookign for 1-way deals that will effect the cap. Again, Suter and Parises Minny contracts would have crippled us financially. Thankfully Holland didn't sign them to those ridiculous contracts. EDIT: Not to mention you'll have Cleary and Miller as UFA and Mursak as RFA as well
