  1. uhhhhhh cause we overipen them.....I don't think your understanding...this is not MY philosophy or MY interpretation, It's the franchises and they openly operate this way. Almost every wings fan knows this....some how I'm not surprised you don't. You can disagree with it all you want but its not going to change things. The wings always choose mature veterans over 18 - 23 yr olds, plain and simple. Guys like Jurco wouldn't do a better job at guys like Abdelkaders role anyway... Brunner is going to play because he's 26 and not a young gun lol though he may still end up doing some time in GR if he underachieves. And Smith is going to play because he's our best prospect, he was ready last season, we have a huge hole in our D and hes a D-man. Simple.
  2. lmao nice redirection there. This has nothing to do with hall of famers and not one of the players you listed is an overpaid has been anyway....with the exception of Samuelsson...and Homer won't be playing for us this season so yeah. If you knew anything about the wings you'd know we are notorious for keeping our talent in the minors for long periods of time. Smith has been NHL ready for years and only now is getting his first shot at a full NHL season. Has nothing to do with the caliber of the prospect and everything to do with our development philosophy. Yakupov would be starting the season in the minors on this team. Unless your the next Pavel Datsyuk that's the way things work.

    Your thoughts on Sergei Fedorov

I don't think anyone who was around in the 90s has a grudge against him. Like someone else said though...If you have to debate about it...then he's not worthy. Yzerman and Lidstrom are no question, no debate, and that's why both will be up there.
  4. hahahah says the guy who obviously knows nothing about our development system Howard Kronwall Filppula Hudler Quincey Helm Abdelkader Ericsson all developed with the griffins.... the only way you go straight to the wings is if your name is Datsyuk or Zetterberg....we over-ripen the rest of em

    Your thoughts on Sergei Fedorov

NO Theres a reason only 6 numbers hang in those rafters (soon to be 7). That is an exclusive club, too exclusive even for Feds. To have your number retired by the wings is like the highest honor...everything must be perfect to get that, and thats what makes it so honorable. if we gave that honor to Feds we would have to give it to a whole bunch of guys. I love 91 just as much as the next guy and it would seriously pain me to see anyone else where that number....but he does not deserve it. Spent wayyyyyy to many years not in Detroit

Who is your favorite player from a team besides the Wings?

Semin has been givin every chance, hes just a lazy piece of s***. Wiz was never given a chance and got shipped around all across the league like a commodity. Played for 5 different teams before he was 28. Kinda sad actually, teams just kept flipping him for more assets. Had his time in the NHL gone differently he may have said no way jose to CBJ and signed here last season. I thought he was the perfect Rafalski replacement. Alas it was not meant to be.
  8. Since when has any pro athlete lived in the Detroits ghettos?

    2012-13 Red Wings stats predictions

If all stay healthy.... Forwards Datsyuk: 75 pts Zetterberg: 75 pts Filppula: 70 pts Franzen: 60 pts Samuelsson: 50 pts Bertuzzi: 40 pts Cleary: 40 pts Brunner: 35 pts Nyquist: 35 pts D-men Kronwall: 50 pts Smith: 35 pts Quincey: 35 pts White: 30 pts Kindl: 30 pts Ericsson: 15 pts
  10. just some comparable stats for 3 of our most NHL ready prospects....pts/gp Nyquist-----------Filppula--------------Hudler AHL: 62/64------AHL: 74/77----------AHL: 179/185 Jarnkrok-----------Franzen SEL: 76/132------SEL: 58/165 Andersson--------Helm AHL: 74/153------AHL: 68/122
  11. A really smart player A really smart player would come here just to pad his stats for a couple seasons and then leave us for a big pay day somewhere else lol....However I think most of em love it here once they get here and then they never leave! (f*** HOSSA)
  12. ......Uhhhhhh cause that's what your doing lol. I understand you want to know how people came to this conclusion on Holland. I agree with you there, I don't understand that conclusion either, but you can't make this argument. Saying that one is more probable than the other is speculation IN ITSELF (I think that's like the third time I've had to say that now). Even so, lets assume your correct....that it is better to talk about players who have been traded in the past...It's still all speculation and still a terrible argument lol.
  13. Only a sith deals in absolutes just cause it hasn't happened doesn't mean it's not possible, this is all opinion. I actually agree with your stance on Holland but your arguing this terribly.
  14. You nailed it on the head! That's the point! Both are speculations and mean NOTHING. Even if one did have a greater possibility over the other (which you can't reasonably say because then you would just be speculating about speculating) in the end IT'S STILL SPECULATION
  15. omg this is some of the worst logic I've ever seen, and it's still all speculation bro....helll your speculating when you say one is a greater possibility than the other lol. Comparing watching a hockey game to past trades haha priceless.
  16. Every GM went after Suter.... An FA didn't choose us??? Holland's lost his touch and the wings have lost their luster!!!! Holland and Ilitch are incredibly smart business men, to the point where they seem like evil geniuses...but they are not gods. They can't land every FA they want. Fortunately for us Hollands plan H is still better than Minnesotas plan A lol. We may have lost the battle, but we always win the war. It's what we do. It's what makes this franchise great. We have an amazing amount of young talent in our system and looking ahead into the near future we will need plenty of money to sign guys like Filppula, Howard, Smith, Nyquist, Brunner, and Kindl. Then coming soon after that we will need to lock up the Jurcos, Tatars, Jarnkroks, and Frks, among others. Hockey is a business and business operates in cycles. There are peaks and troughs....and fortunately for us we are fans of a franchise whos trough means still making the playoffs!!! It's quite amazing actually. The writing is on the wall and it's beyond obvious, we've loaded up with a mass of talented prospects and were going to build internally as we always have done....this wave of prospects will be rolling in throughout the next 3 to 4 years and were looking at another cup in like 7 years.....hey it's better than waiting 30 to 40 years like most other franchises do. Were in our trough right now, it's a gap year, we've signed gap/band-aid players....that being said were still competitive...can't wait for the season to start!!!! Oh and Dabura, I know you think Holland should have been "better prepared" for Lidstroms departure....but Kronwall was always Lidstroms heir....and it's apparent that Smith will be filling Kronwalls old role....and Q was brought in to replace Stuart. Sounds good to me. And I think we will see Kronwall, Q, Smith, and Kindl take some steps forward on this team this year. Another depth D-man at some point will probably happen too though.
  17. hahahhahaha holland thinks 10 to 20 steps ahead of everyone....u all only think of the here and now, gald he's our GM

    Dale Weise Re-signs with Vancouver

I heard Weise was challenging Mcquaid and Thornton either mistakenly thought Weise was challenging him, or he was stepping in for Mcquaid....could be wrong though, it is the Nucks...

Who is your favorite player from a team besides the Wings?

James Wisniewski I grew up in Plymouth-Canton and I'm a big Whalers fan. Jimmy grew up in Plymouth-Canton and played with the Whalers as the hometown boy. Not only was he the hometown boy though, he was also the best player on the team. He captained the Whalers, won the OHL's most outstanding D-man award, won the CHL's D-man of the year award, was a scoring machine, had a helluva slap shot, and was far from scared to drop the gloves. Dynamic and fun to watch. Could not believe he slipped to the 5th round in the draft, and was very disappointed that the wings passed on a Michigan boy. I know he gets a bad rap around here....but he has his reasons for robbing CBJ with an overpaid contract.

    Holland Content with Current Roster

    Stevie needs to trade Vinnie
  21. Gap year. We're building from within, not with overpaid FA's. Our prospect wave will be rolling through in the next 3 to 4 years. We won't be able to pay them reasonable contracts then if we overpay for FA's now.
