Yeah we already have a huge logjam at forward, lets sign a 42 year old forward who brings nothing to the team and make it worse. We have 15 roster forwards and Nyquist, Tatar, and Andersson. If we actually had 4 forwards injured at one time I'd much rather insert one of Nyquist, Tatar, or Andersson, who all NEED NHL ice-time, than a plug like Modano. At least Homer would bring the front of the net presence and PP specialty....Modano would bring nothing....not scoring, not speed, not physicality. He's reliable defensively, that's about it. Doubt Modano would even consider signing here anyway. With 15 roster forwards and ready prospects, he knows he would likely be a healthy scratch most of the season.

Ok first of all, Homer already said is he doesn't come back to Detroit then he's retiring. Second of all, a point per game or more? Really? He's never put up 60 pts in a single season even in his prime and now he's like 38 and can barely skate. Third, with around 16 forwards on the team already he'll be lucky to even be offered a contract. If he asks for one it's likely to be a basement price. We need DEFENSEMEN not DEFENSE. Modano, like Holmstrom, is a bottom 6 forward....and we already have 9 bottom 6 forwards!!!! And too many forwards in general!!! Why would we ever sign him?????

Your speaking out of irrational entitlement. We were never entitled to Suter or Parise and it's completely understandable why Modano would consider them an option now. He's American...They're both American...It's where he began his career...It's where they're originally from...They're both good and the Wild COULD contend for a cup now.....Holland doesn't want another forward anyway, especially not one that's 42. I think it would be very cool for Mike to come back for one more year in Minny....Wouldn't be an insult to us at all....

Yes, Yes, and Yes. Everyone just sees the "out in 5 games in the 1st round". I thought we played great...we had some uncharacteristic penalty hiccups...but that's it. Everyone keeps saying that even though we out shot them "our shots were all low percentage and there's were all high percentage blah blah blah" They got a lot of lucky bounces that went their way and we couldn't get one. That's just the way it goes sometimes. Especially these days in a parity filled league. Need some luck here and there. Not to mention we had our 2 best PKers out on injury and Rinne was HOT....of course his hot streak ended and crumbled in the next series. Again that's just what happens sometimes. Can't win it all or even go super deep every year. Bottom line is we are NOT a bad team at all. Def still one of the top 5 teams in the league even without Lids.

Yeah cause Nick knew we wouldn't land Suter or Parise.... Lose 2 roster D-men?....REBUILD! Seriously though, you either don't know what a rebuild is or you need to look at the roster again. Unless both Smith and Kindl turn out to be a Lebda, and both Brunner and Nyquist turn out to be an Emmerton...we're still a competitive team. We're having a mini youth movement in the D-core....that's it. We're not rebuilding and I highly doubt we're missing the playoffs

I belong to the "why are you interested in ryan/nash when we have a huge void in our D" camp....yet, i have a sneaking suspicion we don't actually have a giant hole in our D Smith has been raved about for years...and he's also been held back for years....I think Ken may already know that he is #2 or #3 spot capable and he's ready to unleash him on our foes....It wouldn't surprise me. Also, I personally think Kindl is a big E type, he'll break out late. Holland may be hoping that break out is this year, which it could very well be. He's 25 and has had 2 partial seasons to gain his footing. ^if that's the case and Holland thinks our boys are ready....then I expect him to add someone like Kubina or Rozival, cause we still need 7 D-men Perhaps this is our final roster after all and Smith is the Calder winner we all expect/hope him to be?

Will Kenny trade for Morrow? No Will Doan resign with PHX? Yes only option is Semin and that's a semi-good option at best
