Excuses. Bottom line is he had a disappointing first AHL season no matter how you want to paint it. Devellano isn't wrong, he's just dumb for saying it to the media. Clearly the organization had higher hopes for his first season. No I think he's still untouchable. He's just trending downward. However, If plays the same way again this coming season I think he's gonna start becoming touchable real quickly. -

He was no ordinary Q prospect. Dominated the Q and has a massive frame. Last fall I said making the Wings was too lofty and people are gonna turn on him when it doesn't happen. I didn't expect him to make the Wings, but I did fully expect him to have a Larkin like transition based on him being a definite blue chip. -

Yeah he's definitely not a reclamation project. I get that expectations were high. There was a ton of him talk about him going straight to the Wings right after juniors. That's a lofty expectation, especially for a Red Wings prospect. But I thought he'd at least be able to hold down a top spot in the AHL, and he couldn't do that, so in that way I think he failed to meet (my) expectations for him. -

Link? Going into his draft I remember his issue was work ethic and foot speed. I also remember Mantha being the one teams asked for. But we'll never know for certain will we?

My guy on the inside says Smith and Kindl were never traded because they were never on the trading block in the first place. Was just the media drumming up trade hype. SHOW ME WHERE I'M WRONG Don't be mad because I know someone deeper in than you. I'm just a cool kid.

I think he's both more talented and more often invisible than Franzen is. We're gonna be lucky if Pulks is as good as Filppula or Hudler during their time here. He's no Brett Hull.

Mantha and Pulkkinen both suck. No sarcasm. Mantha probably has a higher ceiling cause of his size and skill, but he's 100x lazier than Franzen. Pulkinen is a slap shot, that's about it.
