I think the difference is those are Red Wings players and he is a griffin who has been massively disappointing. Publicly calling out your own NHL player is a very non classy no no in most cases. Calling out an under performing AHLer who was predicted to not even be in the AHL is a different story. -

They've been boom or bust pick ups, much like his drafting. Fortunately for us he's better at drafting.

When you're under the microscope it doesn't matter how much good you do, one small mistake and you're "losing your touch" two small mistakes and "OMG FIRE HIM NOW." Nobody's perfect, but Holland's closer than most.

What... cause they're Swedish? Your assessment of prospects is second only to Holland. Even Hakan thought those guys were good. Fact is all three were among our highest ranked/valued prospects. Jarnkrok was even #1 for a time. So you can stop acting like we traded a bunch of Philip Hudons away. He traded those overvalued prospects away these past few years. So your original point about needing to do that... well, its already been done.

What are you talking about? You said Holland needs to trade our overvalued prospects. I cited 3 examples where he did just that, and recently. One of your less clever side steps my friend.

And that's why if he leaves for a different team where he has control over his roster it will be a disaster. There's a reason managers, who can make unbiased and unemotional decisions about personnel, exist. This team would be full of Clearys and Glendenings without Holland.

Howard to Buffalo makes sense to me. Sabres have the cap room and he's from upstate NY. Plus they're leaning all young goalies right now (Lindback, Hackett, Makarov). Mike Weber is a very underrated defensive D-man that they have. Other than him I don't see anyone they'd want to give up. Maybe flip us another young goalie? Hackett played for the Plymouth Whalers

Jarnkrok - constantly compared to Zetterberg Backman - at one point the highest rated defensive prospect we had Janmark - one of the best young players in the SEL But sure, pretend like they were scrubs who were never "overvalued prospects". I think most anyone who seriously follows the team will see through that. People are still mad about giving up each one of them lol

What kind of plan did u expect him to have exactly? 3 trades already lined up? Draft better then he already has? Pay Suter 10 mil for ten years? IMO the team did pretty well considering we lost the the entire top half of our defense lol

This is the first season in awhile that I could honestly see a big shakeup happening. A Phaneuf like trade maybe.
