Carcillo speaks out on Montador's death and mental health issues
number9 replied to kipwinger's topic in General
Not saying this isn't a good idea, but I highly doubt there are enough positions to accommodate everyone. Montador never went to college and was a journeyman who floated from team to team. Eventually he ended up playing out his career in the AHL and KHL at an early age. Aside from an early bust type player, I'm sure he was dead last on every organizations choice for a job. A support system could be great, but I just can't see the PA winning one (If that's even in the PA's agenda). -
Thinking McNulty and Wheaton will be signed

McDavid reported to the mess that was Erie. Why would he suddenly pull a Lindros now? Don't see it happening, he's a pretty down to earth kid unlike the infamous Lindros

Kings' Jarret Stoll arrested for cocaine possession
number9 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Bro had an entire eight ball of coke in the pocket of his swimsuit, and over a quarter of molly. For all you decent men and women out there, that's A LOT of drugs. He was definitely holding that for everyone in his party *cough* Richards and Carter and heck, probably Voynov at this point too *cough*. Or he's a party legend that even Probert pales into comparison to. Erin must like to party -
Mclellan wanted out too

I think he was joking about Cleary

And yet the ones staying at home are Smith and Kindl hmmmm

You're comparing the point totals of a stay at home D-man to a two-way D-man. Scoring points is not Ericsson's role on the team. That comparison doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And +/- is far from a reliable stat. More, DK had 106 minutes of PP time this year, second only to Kronwall among our D-men. Big E had a grand total of 14 minutes of PP time the entire season. So you can see why DK scores more, that's one of his roles on this team. And yet being a 30 pt D-man shouldn't excuse one from bad penalties and bad mistakes. There was more criticism about Kronwall this year than there was about DK which is laughable. Mantha fever is exactly my point. If we brought him up and he didn't perform well everyone blinded with fever would make excuses for him.
-
Who says that? Everyone pretends to be fair and unbiased, but DK receives almost zero criticism for his mistakes and bad penalties. You don't get a pass for age. When you F up you F up. If we played a new player like Mantha right now, and he screwed up a lot, everyone would say "He's not ready"

Give up 9 players and receive 4... Yeah not gonna happen -
After McDavid, Hall, RNH, Eberle, Yakupov, and maybe Ference, the drop off on that team is enormous. Their ability is acquire zero decent D-men, goaltenders, and roleplayers is staggering. They'll probably get the 1st overall again next year too.

So PCP is pretty cool, jus sayin -
Yeah, remodeling the entire leagues rinks is completely unrealistic

Nope. I like small NA ice. Creates a tighter checking game and weeds out players who only flourish when not under defensive pressure. I don't know if bigger ice actually translates to more scoring or not (I'm skeptical) but I do believe smaller ice is harder to play on, which contributes to the NHL being the toughest league to play in. And that I like.

Franzens injury sucks. I'm sure he wishes he could think hockey, but his brain just keeps scrubbing all of his thoughts. I guess concussed brains have to do it in order to protect themselves. Oh well. Best of luck going forward Johan Franzen.
-
Yup, and I owned up to that mistake immediately and corrected myself. Yet instead of simply correcting me, you accused me of baiting and then commented on my opinion of Franzen. If you want to talk Franzen, shoot. If you want to talk about the nature of my posts, take it to pm. Don't accuse me of trolling and then feign ignorance about my stance on Franzen.

17-16 with 27-22 without My bad on forgetting the games he missed in October and our last hurrah right after he went down. The skid began 8-12 games after we lost him. Obviously his loss is not the sole reason for the skid, but his pts, streaky or not, probably could have won us a few extra games during a stretch when no one else could get it done. I jumped to a conclusion without thinking and then realized the error I committed. But what does my take on his injury have to do with liking him as a player? I've made it pretty clear for a few years now that I'm one of Franzen's staunchest supporters. I thought you'd know since you've scrubbed some of my posts about him. And now you've successfully steered the conversation away from my original posts about him being a good RW in his time (as many have stated) and 93 possibly being off limits, which you called baiting. Congrats
