GDT 2/26 GDT : Red Wings 3 at San Jose Sharks 2
number9 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
The west coast trips always mean late nights and rough mornings for me. I fell asleep halfway through the 2nd of the LA. When I saw the score the next morning I went from mad I missed it to instantly happy I got more sleep. -

Is Pulks seriously at center next to Andersson and Weiss? 2 centers? -
Well you can't really get burned when your already losing 4-1. A loss is a loss.
-
Oh for some reason I was thinking the score was 4-2 when he pulled. I'm stupid. My bad.
-
Yeah but getting 2 goals in 12 minutes without pulling your goalie is far from unheard of
-
12 minutes? 5 is pushin it
-
Was just coming here to complain about this. They dumb.

The teams around Jim were much weaker then. If he flops in the PO's this year, I might be inclined to agree. But not until then.
-
Given that he will be in net for us in the POs, yup he's our PO goalie

The day I go to a boxing match and a hockey game breaks out. -
Why Datsyuk no score in shootout anymore?

Of course it effects the game in some intangible ways. A fight is not an event inside a vacuum. However their doesn't appear to be any statistical significance when it comes to fights and the outcome of a hockey game. -

That brawl is beyond unique, and is no basis for a pro fighting argument. Nothing that led to that has, or probably will ever, happen again. Still it's probably my favorite memory as a Wing fan, won't deny you that. -

IDK, personally I'd like to see his "pretty" face get beat in. -

I think he's made it clear that it's the arguments people use to justify fighting that bothers him. It bothers me too, and I love fighting. I don't like it because I think it protects stars (those days are longggggg gone). I like it because it's fun to watch. The same reason why I like big hits. I wanna see my boys pound on inferior teams players. But go on, keep lying to yourselves that their is some deep unmeasurable impact that fighting has on the game that isn't just more injuries. -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBYznVnNTI4 Yeah, I remember screaming "MEH! MEH! MEH!" at my TV Blood sports are awesome dude -
This They could play that way because the same team spent 11 months a year, locked away, playing hockey together, 24/7 for years. And on top of that they played on 5 man units where the same 5 guys were always on the ice together. It's not imagination, it's extreme familiarity/chemistry. The imagination was all Tarasov, their head coach, for implementing a system that allowed them to play their free-wheeling ballet style. You can't recreate that style of play effectively without training under a system that allows for it. It just wouldn't work in a decadent imperialist system like the NHL.

Neither does Mcgrattan. In fact Mcgrattan was so good at his role he got demoted to the AHL on a teams chalked with AHLers. Hell, I'd call up Callahan or AA before signing Mcgrat. I'm all for tough guys, but not for the sake of tough guys. That's idiotic. -

Andersson plays better hockey than Mcgattan. Point moot.
