Maybe at his peak. That's the thing about Hasek. He got beat out by Osgood at one point. I'd say he's right on par with Roy and Broduer. As much as I loath Patrick Waaaaaaaaa the guy was unreal between the pipes most of his career. And Broduer done changed the game with his style of play. Well he only played nine seasons. And he played back when the game was a lot slower and guys didn't where helmets (cause you really didn't need to). But I believe he retired early over having a bad back. He's had his fair share of health issues to say the least. However none have been cognitive.

Some coaches probably prefer that their goalies can see the shot/puck. Babs might be one of them. Constantly diving in front of pucks can lead to injuries and unintentional goalie screens. It's a trade off thing I think. Less blocked shots, but Howard can track the puck better.
