I've seen you mention this before. Personally I've never seen that side of David Perron. Sure he's not your typical soft finesse player, he's a good two-way winger who finishes his checks, but plays with an edge? agitates? dirty areas? pain in the ass? I wouldn't use any of those phrases to describe him. I think you have David Perron mistaken for David Backes. Acquiring Perron doesn't address a need for us. It would be a move for the sake of making a move. And that's why it'd be dumb.

It is considering the low prices at the deadline last year.

Yes, Boston is a clear contender, while the wings are not.

"Helms only good cause of his speed" "Datsyuks only good cause of his hands" "Hollands only good cause of his scouts" "Booze is only good bc it makes me feel good" Slippery slope

No. How dare young boys celebrate huge accomplishments at a very young age.

We had to go through Yzerman in order to get KFQ

Helm is love. Helm is life.

Huh, I had pretty much written off Tvrdon at this point. Good to hear he's doing well.

Waste a pick on a rental forward when we already have an abundance of them? Pass

THEE Tyler Myers? No chance.

So they are retaining some of his salary? I don't get what the benefit is otherwise. Why do they need any more forwards anyway? Unless they're preparing to unload some...

I feel like I say this every year. And yet when I think about the wings I can't help but say TANK IT

Well we still own him, so I doubt he's going elsewhere unless we trade him. Problem with playing in the SHL is he's not getting accustomed to NA ice and the NA game, which he already admitted was a bit of an adjustment for him. Going to the SHL essentially is a huge setback for his possible NHL career. Even with the better minutes.

Something we can all get on board with. Truly you are a man of the people.

If you willing leave the Wings - the freaking Detroit Red Wings - for Europe, good riddance. We can argue all day about what time he should have got and what management should have done, but at the end of the day there are two types of players. Guys who will jump ship when things get bad for them, and guys who will grit their teeth and work that much harder to get to the top. Unfortunately, deserved or not, Backman was the former. I'd rather have the Tatars and Nyquists, who put their noses to the grind stone and fought for their spots than the Backmans of the world. Goodluck to him in Sweden.

Jeez, Yandles been on the block since 2011. But I'm sure this is the year we land him. Definitely.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_McGrattan "He attended the Detroit Red Wings' development camp prior to the 2001–02 season,[4] before signing a contract with the Ottawa Senators on June 2, 2002." Oh what could have been! -

What if Babcock and Mcgrattan stared at each other? There'd be a dimensional paradox. Time would stop as the world rips itself apart at an atomic level eventually imploding in on itself forming a super dense mega black hole. And that's why Mcgrattan can never play for us. -
I think it has more to do with not having an enforcer. Maybe Backman would have been more comfortable on NA ice if a guy like Punchy McLaren or Punchy Orr was on our AHL team.

I think it has more to do with not having an enforcer. Opposing teams might think twice about dangling on Howard if Punchy McGrattan was staring them down.
