I'd agree if we were approaching the trade deadline. The teams not broken right now, so don't fix it right now. We'll better be able to understand what our weaknesses are as the season goes on and we play more games.

Again, I never said he wasn't a good prospect. I'm in no way trying to bash him as a prospect. But reality is 9 games at the NCAA level doesn't make you untouchable when the right offer roles around. Sorry. Jarnkrok was "untouchable" around here for years. Look how that worked out. Larkin could be great one day like you say KRS, and I hope he is, but unless he puts up a Mantha level performance over the next season he's in the same boat as guys like Jarnkrok and most of our other good prospects. Not going to be fast-tracked. Hopefully pans out into something great, but might not. Not sure why that's difficult to understand. I'm essentially grouping him with guys like Tatar, Nyquist, and Jurco. He could end up like them or better... or he could end up like a Mursak, Tvrdon, or Frk. Saying he's untouchable IS overrating him at this point in his career.

We're 11th in goals for per game right now lol. That's ahead of Rags, Hawks, Blues, Ducks, Bruins, Kings, and Habs. I think we're doing fine in terms of offense so far. We're not going to score 3+ everynight, and that's fine.

Of course, I agree. It's like Kip said at the beginning of this thread though. This is what happens when you have millions of dollars and you put it into the hands of non-professionals. It's very likely that it's going to be mishandled and mismanaged. That was a dumb decision by him, and why I don't feel bad for the guy who fires his agent and gives his money to non-pros. That being said, I feel bad for him bc he experienced the worst kind of mismanagement, stealing, and from the worst people that it could come from, his loved ones. And though I feel for him for that, at the end of the day he's money never should have been there in the first place.

The guy has been so coddled his whole life that he had to have his mommy handle his money for him? I understand not expecting your parents to steal from you, but I don't feel bad for any adult that can't handle their own business... especially when you have more assets to get by with than most of us. You can blame his parents all day, but at the end of the day it was his money, he's to blame for the choices that he made with it. Sucks his parents stole from him, but that much money corrupts, even corrupts families. Should've handled his own business like a grown man.

My point was that those teams were built around Crosby/Malkin, and Toews/Kane. Not from the net out. Even though both teams have iced good Defenses. The difference between Chi and Pitt is that Chi actually surrounded their two core players with other good players like Sharp, Hossa, and the many good prospects they've had. Pitt has done some real bad drafting, haven't added any elite wingers for their two core players to skate with, and have had to deal with a ton of injuries to Crosby and Letang.

I'd personally prefer a team built from the net out, but that's not what makes a team elite. Pittsburgh and Chicago, both elite, both built to be pretty balanced on all areas of the ice, and many of their games are dictated by the play of their top 6 cores. Not the goalie.
