Yes they were. They were rumored to be interested in moving him this summer, all of 2013, all of 2012, all of 2011, and probably earlier than that. His name comes up every year despite no credible sources that suggest he's available. Which baffles me because Zach Bogosian is really nothing special. RH yes, but that's about it.

Stars trade Sergei Gonchar for Travis Moen from MTL
number9 replied to derblaueClaus's topic in General
Exactly what I expected to here -
He was drafted as a centerman who Hakan thought would make a better Dman. Marchenko is different than Ericsson. Marchenko had injuries problems in his draft year, and also stated that he wanted to remain in Russia, despite being highly ranked before his injury. Next year he's healthy and tells the wings he'll come to NA as long as he's a Red Wing. With this inside info the Wings are able to draft him with their last pick. Ericsson was just pure good wings scouting.

Shoulda never let Bertuzzi and Eaves go. Loved those guys, even loved their faults. #TrueLove -
Right. I was hinting that he played with a bum for most of his career, and is now with the leagues top stud. Like to see what he'd do with a regular top line centermen like a Bergeron, or a Plekanec type. Not amazing offensively, but good.

My thoughts as well. He could very quickly plunge to lower than Ouellet, Sproul, Marchenko, Backman and Jensen. That's almost an entire lineup of solid prospects. If I'm him I'm going to Edmonton without a doubt.

Dallas is incredibly thin at D. I see this as a possible retool year for them. And they'll benefit from a possible high draft pick that could be a Dman. Those claiming Nill has immediately turned them around are mad. They still have building to do. -
Hornqvist does what we all complain that our team doesn't do. Shoots the puck. He's a very good player, but I'd like to see what he'd do with a centerman not named Legwand or Crosby.

toplines I'd like to see: Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Hossa Hudler - Filppula - (ScoringWinger) Hopefully that Franzen guy turns out to be more than a 3rd liner

Wings call up McCollum, assign Mrazek to Grand Rapids

Then why re-sign him? Why not sign a veteran journeyman, like MacDonald, who'd be more reliable in the NHL if injuries happened? You don't think they still have a shred of hope for him? Due to injury he was rushed into the NHL, and was utterly traumatized by that crazy defeat against STL. Last year he rebounded and is so far outplaying Mraz this year. This is a former 1st round pick with all the signs of a late bloomer. I'm not his biggest fan, but I think it's extremely wrong to completely write him off at this point. I highly doubt they have any intention of showcasing him. A trade partner would have every excuse in the book not to return value for him. That's how his career has played out so far. If this is anything other then just to let Mraz play in GR, it's to see if Mccollum really does have potential as an NHL goalie. If Petr is the real deal we may have to trade Howard one of these years. If that's the case who's a potential backup? A rebounding Mccollum could be one. -

This team needs more TUZZZZZZI -
What I was thinking, minus nest maybe

Hes actually closer to 175. He's wrongly listed on many sites. 156 is his weight from a bit ago
-
He runs a wings blog that is 100% an LGW comment without the commentary. I highly doubt he has a RWC equivalent running already.

Too funny Shanny A friend of mines mom was a real estate agent back in the day and she was somehow involved in the sale of Shanny's home in Detroit. Apparently all he had in his basement (which was a dark unfinished cellar basically) were boxes of thousands of Shanahan trading cards and cot, not a bed, a cot. He told her that that is where he sleeps on the night before a game. Dude's hardcore. -
Butt pats for everyone!

I was mostly thinking about how much everyone used to dislike Ericsson, then he suddenly became a solid blue liner in LGWs eyes once Lids left. Now he's become slightly disliked again.
-
Kindl will be a "solid" D-man on LGW by this time next year. Then we'll all hate him again after a bad pass at some point.
