Yes, that is exactly what happened. Now. Go put on another jersey, and quickly take it off again. We need another! If you don't have another one, use the Zetterberg one again. Put it on and take it off. If it works, repeat that for the rest of your life.

Yep, me too. And it's totally a personal bias. Beating them in 2008, glory. Losing to them in 2009, even though it took them until like OT game 7 to do it, was crushing. I want a Three-Match, (It's like Three....Re....Three-match, rematch....get it) lol. Honestly, I really do though. I spend a lot of time seeking out free online streams to watch the games. I expect Zetterberg to shut down Crosby again, to repay me for my time and effort

I wrote this earlier. I missed large parts of the game so far, but thus far I have done: #1 once #2 once #4 once #5 Twice I am POSITIVE I missed some.

Does everyone just play harder against the wings? It makes sense. The big bad dominator of the league for two decades, why wouldn't playing against the Wings always be a seriously important game? It kind of makes me happy that teams get so hyped to play us, and try so damn hard to beat us. I mean really, honestly, if you ever played any sport, you know you get pumped playing certain teams. And if you're one of the better teams, you get REALLY pumped playing the badass team. Makes me wonder, if I was a magician..... What percent of "Effort" do the wings play against every night, compared to other teams? Is Vancouver playing harder tonight against us, than they would play against...say......Edmonton? Does this make sense? Am I high? Does everyone come to our town with their A-game? I think honestly, just realizing that...yes....teams bring their A game against us night in and night out, is just that much of a testament to how good we sometimes actually are. We're not at the bottom of the barrel. We can't silently just have a 10 game win streak and get back into the standings. We gotta scrap and scrape and claw and bite for every point, cause everyone we play seriously tries to bring their best game against us. And if you don't agree with me, if you read this again with the right music in the background, it will sound cooler. I swear.

Yep. Minimum. And if it's an understatement, could be longer. The wrist is not just one bone, that can be reset into position to heal. The Wrist contains hundreds of little particles of injury just waiting to happen. 15 small bones, not including the radial and ulnar bones, and the bones in the hands, fingers, etc. Ligaments connecting all of those, and muscles making them all work. A typical wrist injury is not like say...breaking your Tibia falling off a roof, where one bone and some tissue is damaged. Wrist injuries often include multiple bones, and multiple s*** attached to those bones. Rarely every is a wrist injury a "Clean" injury. Usually it's a huge mess, where some bones fragment, half a dozen ligaments are torn, some tissue dies, etc. Wrist injuries are VERY VERY prone to being chronic problems. I say this because 1) I was a medic in the army. 2) I have broken my wrists 7 times, 5 on the left wrist, 2 on the right. After the final break, it took nearly 4 years to recover to a point I consider "completely". Most of the breaks happened skating. A wrist injury is no joke. I would almost rather he broke his liver.

+100 points to that line for being suddenly bad ass. What you think, 2 hours, maybe 3 before we get some random ass appreciation threads, based on the last minute of play

Wtf was that. I hate being the guy who ******* about bulls*** calls, but whhhat??? Homer was getting hassled, his stick came up from what I saw, but there was NO intent in that at all. Did I not see something? (I probably hit refresh 50 times today, waiting for this site to come back up. Lol)

The Wings were the best team in the Conference in October and November. But at 4-4-2 as a last ten.... Vancouver has been the best team in the conference for December. 8-1-1 (Last ten)

    Chicago fans last night

*Smirk* I've been to a few games in such a state. You notice a lot of tiny little things on the ice, that you will never notice if you are in a "normal" mindset. Just little things, right down to someone's skate kicking up ice, or someone losing their balance to .0002 seconds. Though I will admit the "Crowd" can be a little unnerving in said state :-p

Is Martin St Louis underrated ?

Good point. When you look back on it, he seems pretty highly rated by all of us. I think the real truth is.....he just doesn't have that "Flair" that the media is looking for. He's not the rockstar Ovie, he doesn't hold Headlines like Crosby, he's not the breakout superstar sniper that Stamkos is, and even Datsyuk has a marketable personality and style with his "Lady Bing, Dangle your socks off" appeal. St Louis is just a good player. The media has no use for that :-p I Hereby nominate this thread to the "Other Guy", that second person that makes a top line the top. To all the St Louis, the Malkin's, and the Backstrom's. And to that other Sedin twin, whichever one "Isn't" on top this year.

    Chicago fans last night

I've never been to a Chicago game, but I will say that the LA fans would probably give them a run for their money. Few years back I wore my Wings Jersey to a game in LA. Several cigarette burns later, it was my most prized jersey. By the end of the first period two security guards escorted me and my friends around. Literally, they walked with us to the smoke point, or to go get beer, or to the bathroom, because in addition to the fact that the LA fans were obnoxiously drunk and hostile, we were becoming drunk and hostile in return LA needs to replace beer sales with weed. Go to a game high, and see if you have any desire to get into a fight. You're more likely to spend 20 minutes trying to figure out the meaning of the Jumbo-Tron.

Is Martin St Louis underrated ?

Ron Francis, Daniel Alfreddson, a lot of players don't get the mention they deserve through a career, and Two-Way forwards always get the shaft. Until really this last year, Datsyuk has been a pretty silent forward too. I've seen more news articles and discussions about him this year, than in probably all the rest of his playing years combined. Even in 2008 Zetterberg walked away with the Smythe, Franzen was the hot stick, and Datsyuk was just a silent champion. St Louis had 94 points last year (Compared to Datsyuk only having 70 something). His last 100 point season was 2006, where he had 40+ goals. But most NHL players will never have even one 100 point season. I don't think it's that people don't know how good he is. He just largely gets overshadowed, and honestly, TB hasn't been the greatest team in a while. Malkin has Crosby to overshadow him Backstrom has Ovechkin to overshadow him St Louis has Stamkos to overshadow him St Louis got a lot of hype and attention when Tampa Bay won the cup, but he got good before the NHL started marketing players so heavily. Or as I like to say....before the NHL read "Marketing in the NBA for dummies". The other reason that most of your two-way forwards don't get a lot of respect/hype, is because 99% of the fans of hockey in the U.S. don't even know what "Two Way Forward" means They just like the flashy light that goes off when the puck goes into the net.

As hot as we looked a few weeks ago, the 'Nucks have almost an identical record to us now. A win for them tonight puts them on top of the West in win percentage. I think it's going to be a high scoring game, which is bad for Jimmy. I'm calling 6-5 'Nucks. I don't want them to win, but we knew December was going to be our hardest month, and arguably Vancouver is the best team we'll play this month. Here's hoping I'm wrong. In our favor, we usually do well against good teams, and Luongo is streaky. Then again, Howard isn't exactly hot streaking either. Points for Datsyuk and Sedin, for sure. Kessler pisses me off, by scoring a go ahead goal. Zetterberg tallies late. Howard lets in a softy in the first period. Luongo gets owned by Franzen five minutes later. Hudler gets zero points, though he does touch the puck once. (Too optimistic?) Due to the fact that it's nationally televised, and in High Def, I will be wearing my tin foil hat any time the announcers speak. My personal drinking game for tonight will be to take a shot (Chug a beer) anytime one of the following occurs: 1) Any time an announcer says any of the names: Crosby, Ovechkin, Toews (That alone should get me hammered) 2) Datsyuk Dangles a player, or the goalie. (Two drinks if he scores.) 3) The Sedin's one time it. (Two drinks if they score), ((Throw one beer against the wall if it ties, or takes the lead)) 4) Sammy scores (Half a beer for an assist) 5) Anytime HBO's 24/7 is mentioned, or previewed. (Two drinks if Crosby has his mouth open for no damn reason) 6) Drink twice for a win 7) Drink four times for a loss 8) Drink two more before returning to the forums.

    I'm Boycotting the Winter Classic...

I kinda hope Washington wins. Would be great to see the Pens get beat on National TV, during the "Big game".

How certain are you that the Wings will get Ozzy his 400th?

Owned. I watched the game and then voted. I win every time for some reason

    24/7 debuts tonight on HBO

HBO always does quality stuff, but still, you can tell this is geared towards really amateur fans. HBO always does quality stuff, but still, you can tell this is geared towards really amateur fans. If you disagree, It referred to the Winter Classic as a "stunning display", and labeled it as as "Signature spectacle". When you use lines like that in the first 2 minutes of the show, it's clear they're not reaching out to fans, but instead just trying to win over audiences.

Considering 99.99999999% of Chicago fans didn't watch hockey two years ago, let alone when Chelios played for Chicago, it is extremely forced and fake. Half the people in Chicago will probably learn, for the first time tonight, that Chelios even use to play for them.

At least with a Wings behind the scenes they could look at the progression of the dynasty. Unlike Pittsburgh, where they're focusing on just a few years, with at best flashbacks to the early nineties. And Washington, showing now that even with the "best player in the league" you can still suck. If you're looking for drama, then yeah Pittsburgh and Washington are great teams to follow. If you wanted an inspirational story of routine success, endless hall of famers, multiple cups, and to follow 15 proven cup winners around for a year, half a dozen presidents trophies, and 4 stanley cups in the last two decades..................well.....who cares about that Right It's much more fascinating, to watch two teams that only got good a few years ago, one of which is struggling, the other of which even after watching 24/7, 90% of it's fans couldn't name 5 members of the team without google High chance, that when asked, most of them would say "Hossa" was still on their team

Detroit has always recovered from losses of players. When Yzerman started going, people wondered where our offense would come from. Shanahan, Fedorov, people were worried to see all of them leave. When Murphy left people wondered who would pair with Nic, Schneider stepped in and did well, then when he left, Rafalski stepped up. That said, usually we had an "option" to replace all of those guys (And the dozens of others that have come and gone through the years), but I must admit I don't see any type of replacement for Lidstrom. Guys like Stevie Y, Shanahan....they're great forwards, but you can find diamonds in the rough like Zetterberg and Datsyuk to keep the locomotive chugging along. In order to replace Lidstrom you need to draft a Bobby Orr. I don't see that happening. Great forwards are rare, but there are a few of them each year. Great all around defense-Man are almost impossible to find. Bright side: When Lids retires, we'll have a lot of cap room to mess with. Dark side: Our style of play will change, and the first year or two without him, we will definitely feel an impact. Lets hope Holland is still active when Lidstrom retires. We'll need the front office on their toes that year.
