    Forum Upgrade Upcoming

The LetsGoWings.com Forums will be undergoing an upgrade this week -- as early as Tuesday and no later than Thursday. During this time the Forums will be unavailable. In addition to updated templates there will be a large number of feature updates and other changes that have been in development over the last few weeks. There will be some minor bug fixes along the way, but the goal is to have the forums offline for as short of a time period as possible. Thank you!

    Nashville to trade Suter's rights?

Could? Will. Quick is a Stanley Cup champion and Conn Smythe Trophy winner. He'll get more than Rinne. -- As for the others... I'm convinced Suter will sign here, no matter who he has his rights traded to. I wouldn't even consider trading for the rights if I'm Ken Holland. The red carpet is practically rolled out from here to Nashville. The situation couldn't be presented any clearer to Suter as it is. Parise, though? That's a rights-trade I would absolutely consider. If I were to wager a guess I'd say Holland and Co. is confident in nabbing Suter, but it may help snagging Parise's rights before July 1 to not only know you've got him and won't get into a bidding war after July 1, but you've got Zach signed, Suter's going to sign with you, too -- and now you've got a very clear idea of what kind of cap space you've got left, what assets you have left to use as trade bait, etc., VERY early in the UFA-frenzy. Especially if you're looking for a big 4th-line body (Gaustad?) or another 2nd-tier defenseman (Garrison, etc..) That's gold, in my mind.

    Nashville to trade Suter's rights?

Just thinking out loud with a little "Monday Morning QBing" thrown in: Let's say, knowing what we know now in terms of the Red Wings' playoff performance, that Holland DID trade Brad Stuart to the Rangers for the rumored 2nd and 3rd round picks, and now had them at this disposal. How willingly do you think he'd be in using them as rights ammunition for for Suter and Parise? A bit different without them, especially since you're already missing your 1st.

    Nashville to trade Suter's rights?

I don't think it really matters where he's traded to in the event he is prior to July 1. He can still switch hands prior to July 1 if the team he's initially traded to doesn't sign him. Personally, I think he'd be dumb to not wait until July 1st if he gets traded to another club besides Detroit. The money, term, minutes, organization and track record lines up perfectly with everything that Suter has either hinted to in the press (in terms of market, commitment to winning) or through media sources. There are plenty of indirect ways to drop Suter hints about an offer coming his way without violating any bylaws.

    Conn Smythe Predictions

I don't recall appointing you the individual responsible for determining what is and isn't "worthy" of being a new thread. We won't be suppressing opinions today, regardless if 99% of the membership agrees on a certain individual. All that guarantees is that the topic will slowly get bumped off the first page eventually, unless someone decides to continually debate its merit for no legitimate reason and bumps it.

Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

Likely well below what he'd get on the open market.

    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Finished it over the weekend. I thought the ending was great, I got all of the achievements except for the "building" the Thieves Guild, the 1000 bounty in all 9 holds, and picking 50 pockets. Other than that I've gotten everything, including the gold Dragon Priest mask. The only thing that was disappointing was the final fight -- since my character was built up so strong the "epicness" of the battle was lost when I defeated him in about 10 seconds. Oh well, I kind of knew that heading in. Was still pretty cool. Can't wait for some DLC! (Time to bust ME3 out of the plastic.)

    Thanks, Matt!

Wow, I didn't expect to stop in and see this -- thanks guys! But honestly, you all should be patting yourselves on the shoulders: It's the people that make up the community that have made this place work over the last 15 years. The moderators here, while not always universally liked deserve the REAL round of applause as they've been fantastic in helping to keep the site humming along as efficiently as possible. Thank you, mods! You guys do a great job and the site wouldn't exist without them. Thank you, fans! Without you guys here this community just wouldn't work the way it has!

    Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Wow, I can't believe I didn't drop into this topic before, but I'm a huge Skyrim fan. I'm just now getting near the end of the game -- on purpose, since I'm a completionist and have to do the side quests first -- and should finish it this weekend. Before I did the 2nd or 3rd main quest story (introduction of the Blades) I went through and completed the Dark Brotherhood questline (awesome!), Mages Guild, Thieves Guild and the Companions, got all of the houses, finished the Civil War and raised my Smithing, Enchanting, One-Handed and Speechcraft levels to 100. Since then my Archery is at 100, Heavy Armor 100, and Lockpicking at 95. As of last night I'm a lvl 60 and the only achievements left outside of the main story questline is getting 20 shouts (1 left for obvious reasons), the 'restoring' Thieves Guild quest (which seems like a ludicrous number of quests that's a ***** to track) and ones related to causing mayhem (pick 50 locks/pickpocket 50, break out of jail, 1000 bounty in all 9 holds, etc.). I'm down to the last Dragon Priest mask (again, for obvious reasons) and I've got 3 single Words of Power to learn before I have the 3-pack for the 19 I know all down. (Getting the last three from the Greybeards before I don't have a further need for them -- also relates to a story quest). Getting the Oblivion Walker achievement was nice, too, as those missions were pretty fun. I really hammered down (no pun intended) on Smithing and Enchanting really early, got the Steed Stone (and never used anything else) to go with a full set of Daedric armor and weapons. I've amped those up with a ring/amulet set I crafted and my Daedric Bow does 256 damage -- Giants are down in two arrows (almost one... one takes it about 3/4 of the way). My Daedric swords (I dual wield) each do 156 each. (No hacking/boosting here, this was all through ramping up Alchemy to make stronger potions for Enchanting and Blacksmithing, or buying those potions, and then using them when Smithing/Enchanting while wearing apparel -- hat/ring/gloves/amulet/clothing -- that boosted Smithing.) I feel like a walking God of Death. The only things that do any damage to me at all is magic (Armor Rating is 594 with a carry of 620) and the odd overpowered Forsaken. Virtually everything else hits me and does not affect my health at all. (It's amusing coming across bandits and just standing there as they wail away, their weapons doing nothing, as I line up a point-blank arrow shot.)

    Nashville and this series.

I haven't seen anything remotely close to this at all.

#5 Philadelphia Flyers vs. #4 Pittsburgh Penguins

    Peanut butter jelly time?
  13. This comes up every single year. The 1st Round matchups are separated from the brackets from the 2nd Round on. Any self-respecting hockey fan knows that the teams are re-seeded following the opening round and if they aren't sure it's already done for them when the Round 2 edition gets released.
  14. Thanks for the compliments, guys. It's getting interesting coming up with something fresh after doing these for as many years as I have. I also added the NEW iPad3 resolution as well. But, but... it's only for just this round, right? (I've updated the files to reflected the retouched logo.)

  17. Thanks, guys. There isn't a Wings-focused playoff series wallpaper as I release a playoff bracket wallpaper (for all teams) every year.

  22. Forking the Red Wings' deadline-day discussion from the main trade-deadline thread to this one. Holland has told the Free Press that the Red Wings won't have any trades announced after the 3pm deadline. Discuss!

    Brad Stuart's family issues

As others have mentioned, my understanding is that it has to do with custody of his stepchildren. If Stuart's wife were to move from California she would forfeit custody rights to the child(ren) she had with her ex-husband.
