The Nashville Gaustad deal screams as a pure (for lack of a better term) c*ckblock move. A 1st and 4th? I'm half a mind to think that Holland was working that trade for a while this morning and then Nashville swoops in at the end, trips all over itself to make that move to prevent him from landing in Detroit. (On the flipside, you'd say "Nashville to do all that just to prevent Detroit from landing a player -- the level of Guastad -- it was clearly persuing?)

What was the asking price on Moen?? -

Well, that potentially increases names thrown out there. Vancouver's been looking at Steve Ott and Dustin Brown, too. Not convinced Detroit is looking at those two, but they'd fit the mold of what the team may be looking for (though there's always the asking price, seems a little rich for me). -

You're not likely to get both. Theoretically easier to get the plug on the lower line (and the special teams depth), than it is to get that top 6 scorer. Limited supply, high demand... High prices. They've already dealt their 1st this year and I can't see them dipping into 2013 without it being a major player coming back. -

They need both, but the market supply/demand means they likely won't get both. Hell, I'd love Nash, but unless he demands a trade to Detroit it isn't going to happen. If Detroit ends up with just Guastad, I'll be satisfied. If they don't get him and end up with, say, Pahlsson... I am disappoint. -

FWIW, I think Gaustad is a perfect fit on this team. Big, physical, character guy that wins faceoffs. Perfect plug for the 4th line, PK. -

Article on the Gaustad talks "heating up", FWIW (this was after the Allen tweet): http://aol.sportingnews.com/nhl/story/2012-02-27/paul-gaustad-trade-rumors-buffalo-sabres-detroit-red-wings-trade-deadline?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=jessespector ^ This. Shanabans forthcoming for those that don't. No further bickering about it from this point forth. -

Now reports saying Vokoun left the ice at practice. What a crazy day this always is. -

Which is interesting... If Washington was selling and Chicago wasn't publicly behind their netminders and not making a move, that'd seem like a good fit. I could absolutely see Vokoun waiving his NMC for that. -

No problem. I was going to post it separately but figured I'd just piggyback it onto your post. -

A few Twitter feeds perking up about Paul Gaustad close to getting dealt to the Wings. Interesting if true because of the earlier report that Buffalo was looking for a 1st for him. Awaiting any confirmation or update... Again, purely rumor, but a few different people have picked up on it. Same deal precluded the Kostitsyn deal to Nashville. We'll see. -
Guys, just so you know: Tonight's game WILL be on 97.1FM. The Pistons swapped with the Wings for the night because of the record. (Heard this on the drive home from the office last night while listening to 97.1.)

Last month's inclusion of backgrounds sized for your iPhone4 and iPad proved to be wildly successful, so I've also added a (relatively) standardized Android device background as well: 480x800. Enjoy! Thanks for the great feedback last month everyone! I do like the inclusion of the Grand Rapids Griffins schedule, but I'm trying to find an effective way of applying it to the current rendition without it getting too busy -- especially at smaller resolutions. Speaking of (slightly) smaller resolutions: You can now use the LGW Calendar Schedule Wallpaper on your iPhone4/S and your iPad/2! The iPhone4 version is specifically formatted for your lock screen. I'd love your feedback on these! (Specifically the iPad version -- I don't personally own one, so I wasn't able to test the layout against any pre-existing lock screen issues like I could with the iPhone4. Also, I'm definitely open to adding versions for Android devices -- but I'd base it on the highest, most-popular screen resolution and I'd need a template guide to avoid the same on-screen o/s features.) Enjoy! Widescreen: 1920x1200 | 1920x1080 | 1680x1050 |1440x900 | 1366x768 | 1280x800 4:3: 1600x1200 | 1400x1050 | 1280x960 | 1280x1024 iPad & iPad2: 1024x1024 iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S: 640x960

Clean hit. Nothing there that is any different than the collection of ones we see from Kronwall. He doesn't leave his feet (jump) to lay the hit, but powers up into it when contact is made.

I have absolutely no problem with making an official Android-based one (I mentioned as much at the top), I'd just prefer to make one that satisfies two key needs: a high resolution and popularity. If the 480x800 works for you guys (I know there's at least one that's higher), then I'll release that as well. Thanks for the feedback!
