  1. I wanted to thank every member that took part in LGW's "Money on the Board" playoff donation drive that raised a total of $875.40 for the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation! vladdy16 did an absolutely amazing job keeping track of and arranging everything -- this would not have been possible without her help -- thank you! She sent in the donation to the Foundation on Wednesday this week and I spoke with Sally at the Foundation today and filled her in on how the donation came about and made sure to have it dedicated to the members of LetsGoWings.com. I'm incredibly proud of all of you that took part and I can't wait to have more drives just like this one in the future!

Money On The Board - Playoff Style

I took a call from the Children's Hospital of Michigan Foundation today asking about the donation, and I was more than happy to fill her (Sally was who I spoke with) in on how the donation came about. The dedication will be made to the members of LetsGoWings.com and I've attached the donation confirmation e-mail below. You guys are great! I really hope we can keep doing great things like this!

  5. Found it: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/nhl/wings/2007-07-01-rafalski-redwings_N.htm The important bit: ... Which works out to roughly $6.67-million/season. Almost $700K -- a nice chunk of change to save. Rafalski was a fantastic signing and a great compliment to Lidstrom on the power play. (Schneider did us a favor!) We will desperately miss that first-pass and the right-hand shot on the power play. Thanks Brian!
  6. I know that at least for me it wasn't an issue of being "happy" that he is retiring -- but despite his point production you knew that his overall health was going to be a serious factor going forward into next season. When he's healthy he's a $6-million defenseman, but when he's not -- and lingering issues this season lead one to believe that he would continue to deteriorate -- he's a major strain on the Red Wings' flexibility. Looking forward to the offseason, it'll be interesting. One new factor to consider too is that Holland won't be saddled with salary-for-salary player trades. He can afford to take on higher salary players due to the cap space. So the answer may not come via free agency, but by trade. It's not. He was offered more than Detroit's $6-million when he hit free agency. (It might've been the Devils to try to keep him at around $6.5-million, but I haven't looked back to confirm.) Regardless, he absolutely took a lower offer to play here. It was a big point made in the press when he signed here.

    Member Reputation System Update

Due to popular request, I have re-enabled the ability to give a post a negative ("-") rating. This feature was removed previously due to abuse but has been updated for use after enabling 24-hour caps on the number of reputation points that members can give posts on the forums here.
  12. You know how this goes... Don't forget to also post your entries to this thread in the Phoenix Coyotes Photoshop War Gallery, located in the (surprise!) Gallery section of the Forums. (You can check out last year's entries that were added, too.)

    Finish these fuckers off

I'll let it slide. I don't mind everyone getting a little crazy with the multi-threads -- this series has been legendary.

WCSF Game 6 GDT: Sharks 1 at Red Wings 3

AND DID I EVER! I love this team. I know we're all spoiled as fans to have such a 20-year run, but I can honestly say I haven't felt this exhilirated with a win like this in years... Maybe even as far back as Game 4 of the Cup Final. That was for different reasons, of course, but coming back this way -- and hopefully being able to complete the miracle on Thursday night... Wow. It's hard to be more proud of this team than I am right now. Unbelievable.

Sorry it took a few minutes to get that "6" up top there, guys... I had to pick myself up off the floor. ...WOW...
  20. Per Detroit Red Wings official twitter account. @DetroitRedWings Deal is one-year, pro-rated $570,000 as rumored earlier today. He'll be placed on waivers at 12 noon ET tomorrow. If no team puts in a waiver claim for him he will be a Red Wing officially at 12:01pm on Saturday. Update (1/22 @ 12:02p): The New York Islanders have claimed Nabokov off waivers.

Round 2 Bracket Wallpaper Now Available!

There must be link on the front page directing you to last year's wallpaper by the sounds of it. I'll get it fixed. This is now fixed! (Thanks for bearing with me, guys. I'm in Vegas through the weekend and had to finish this update before, during and after my flight in yesterday, so I was trying to keep any oversights to a minimum.)
  22. Widescreen 16:10 & 16:9: 1920x1200 | 1920x1080 | 1680x1050 | 1440x900 | 1366x768 | 1280x800 4:3 & 5:4: 1600x1200 | 1400x1050 | 1280x960 | 1280x1024 | 1024x768 Enjoy!
  23. Since we're likely to have an extended break between rounds, I figured we could have a Photoshop thread directed at how the Red Wings may spend their time during the lull before the Conference Semifinals. Of course, you're not limited to just that topic -- something amusing works just as well (like something regarding the other ongoing series). Have at it!
  24. This was originally brought up in this thread over the weekend but I was waiting for final artwork approval. Wait no longer! I've added the designs to the LGW.com Fan Gear Shop on a variety of different colors and shirts. Some of the additions: Almost all of these designs can be applied to any color of shirt -- you're not just limited to red or white. I have already set some up on black and ash, but you're able to change the color to whatever you want on the product page. Also: There are many different shirts available, so use the "Categories" drop down to see them all! If you have requests for specific designs on a certain shirt, please feel free to let me know and I'll add the item!
