Lidstrom won't sign anything longer than one year, so the argument is moot. He's repeatedly stated in interviews when asked that he will only go year to year. No multi-year contracts.

I would love to do this, but to do so would mean increasing the cost of the shirts to you guys. The site only makes a couple dollars per shirt sold, so it's hard for me to push the prices higher just to push the site more -- it's more than enough that you guys purchase the shirts and the site sees a couple dollars from it. The cost of the shirts increase when more than one artwork piece is used (like something on the front and then another on the back), if a piece of artwork has more than one color, etc. All of that starts increasing the cost and I'm loathe to have a simple t-shirt cross the $20 barrier because of it. If you guys want some kind of LGW.com-centric shirt I'd be more than happy to make some for that (and perhaps I can squeeze in a small LGW logo on the back of the single-color front-only shirts that currently exist). I just don't want these shirts to cost any more than I think they should. Thanks for the support! Remember, I still take requests!

As I mentioned in the other thread discussing Octogate 2011: I'm working on some new designs for the LGW Shop that are more octopus-focused. I've had one design, the "Don't Tread on Me" Octopus t-shirt around for a few months now, but with recent events I've put together a few designs tonight that I'd like feedback on: Of note: Al Sobotka's photos are VERY hard to get the Che Guevara, but it is what it is . the "vidare till seger" is the Swedish translation of "hasta la victoria siempre" ("onward to victory" -- all via Google Translate). If some of our Swedish members has a more effective translation I'm all about fixing it. As it stands these are all up for review and should (hopefully) be available to purchase within the next day or two (kind of iffy being the weekend and all). If any of you have any ideas or suggestions -- or requsts for what item of clothing you'd like to purchase it on if it was available -- I'm all ears!

I don't physically print them myself -- I use Spreadshirt, which is immensely popular and the same company that manufactures the t-shirts for SnorgTees (if memory serves correctly, and other shirt sites such as this). I own a few of the shirts I've designed myself as well and have been immensely happy with the print and the finish (it's light-years beyond the product that I received when I previously sold my designs on CafePress.com). They've done a fantastic job in completing orders quickly and efficiently to not only customers in the US and Canada but also fulfilling orders as far away as Australia, England, Estonia, and Denmark, among others. Each product page comes with a sizing chart so you can purchase the right size for your body type and there are plenty of different clothing styles offered and available by request. ____ As an aside... it is always amazingly cool to see how popular the "Feed the Mule" shirts have been over the last three years. I remember going to Game 5 of the 2009 Cup Final and seeing no fewer than four of them just from where I was sitting in the stands!

As a note: I can offer 'big & tall'-type sizes, too, like 3XL and 4XL as well, though I usually don't add them without a request. ANYONE can make requests -- sometimes there's just a look out there that you're looking for that isn't up on there. As the store goes I tend to not clutter up each category with every single clothing offering, but I will definitely add requests.

The graphics can come on a wide, wide variety of clothing items -- but they're usually sold as regular mens (or women's) heavyweight t-shirts in a standard crew neck. I bought one of the "Feed the Mule" shirts for myself when I first designed them three years ago and it fits just fine -- just like any regular t-shirt -- and the print still looks like the first day I got it. (There really is a ridiculous amount of different clothing items these things can be placed on -- so just ask and I'll see if its available. Unfortunately not all colors are available on all clothing items, so that limits it a bit.) LGW.com Shop

Thanks! No smoke plugin, but there are a variety of smoke brush sets that are free to download online. I used different smoke brushes from three different sets and used the brush edit window to rotate and customize them further. There's about five different smoke layers involved in getting the effect -- the closer the smoke would 'appear' to the user the heavier the guassian blur applied. Soft drop shadow layer effects were also used to give the subtle illusion of depth on the smoke where one layer was in front of the other. The ice surface was a large texture image I purchased off iStockPhoto.com a couple years ago. I changed it to a grayscale image, fiddled with the levels to get the right brightness/contrast that I wanted and used the free transform to tilt the ice to the perspective angle I wanted (this is best illustrated in the widescreen versions... in the standard 4:3 ratio resolutions I had to pull the ice down to help fill the space.)
