Take the 1440x900 and size it to fit. I do more standardized sizes (1366x768 isn't that common). The same reason I don't do 1152 for standard 4:3 monitors.

No offense taken. Yes, I have a full-time job away from this site, a from-the-home-office graphic design business I'm getting off the ground and a young (3- and 4-year old girls) family to help take care of. To say the last week has been difficult for time-management would be an vast understatement.

I've released the updated Forum skin tonight (this morning?) for all member groups. Keep in mind that there *will* be some bugs here and there as I can't test every element of the skin prior to its release. If you find a bug or error please feel free to report it in the Member Services > Bug Reports forum and I'll get to it ASAP. I expect to have these all cleared up by the weekend. Enjoy!

Thanks, Jedi. For what it's worth, site Boosters have been using the new skin (in it's work-in-progress state) as an option since last night. It'll be released soon -- the plan is sometime tonight. As for the Reputation system, I changed the allowances for some member groups. (And yes, I can limit the daily allowances for both positive and negative rep by member group.)

Interesting. On the odd chance I actually get IDed walking down the breezway I'd assumed that you had to be 21 to head into the casino area.

Sorry guys, but the March Schedule Desktop Wallpaper will be late this month. My laptop's graphic cards up and died early last month and it's been in for repairs since then. (This is being posted from my work computer.) The good news is that the parts arrived today and I'm hoping this is repaired this week. It's been an incredibly frustrating experience and I'm sorry it's forcing this to be late this month.

I enabled that feature last night. The forums receive a large number of guests, so I wanted to decrease the server load a bit by disabling that for guests.

Over the last several hours since the forums were brought back online I've received a few e-mails from members in good standing that reported that their IPs or member accounts had been "banned" or moved into a restricted member group. This is an unfortunate byproduct of migrating the forum's database to the latest version and has, by and large, only affected a few accounts. If your account has been innappropriately banned or a member status changed (users may have been bumped out of their "____ Booster" status), please feel free to contact me via e-mail at mattschwartz@gmail.com and I'll compare the username to the appropriate offline list and get your account corrected. The March wallpaper I intended to get finished tonight, but that was before what went down yesterday. I'll probably be pushed to sometime next week. I had to pull my laptop out of the repair shop this evening when I received notice that the backup was restored and the upgrade was in progress. (My laptop isn't completely fixed yet, but I can use it in the interim.) The focus this weekend is to get the forum looking more like itself (though an "updated" look I've been wanting to do) and then get the wallpaper out. I've had to re-prioritize in the interim.

By keeping the programming up to date. The problem was that the jump from the previous version to this is large (not a 2.3.4 to 2.3.5, but a jump from 2.X to 3.X) and there were several intricate modificatons to the previous version that may have "broken" the upgrade process. That's gone now. As long as there is an internet, there'll be hackers. You've just got to be diligent in staying ahead of the game.

Don't worry, it's going to happen this weekend! I'm currently trying to see if I can just keep this one live for a day or so while I develop the "main" skin on a hidden forum, then release it finished. (Rather than piecemail it in.)

Outside one or two instances over the last couple of years the ads have not been a security problem. The issue, in the hacking attack that took down the forums, was solely due to outdated forum software that had a security vulnerability. That has been eliminated, as promised. The Google "blacklist" issue that popped up is due to the same thing -- outdated programming (in this case the content management system that controls the areas of the site outside the forums). That hole is still there but it's affecting only one file as the others have been permanently disabled. That issue will be rectified shortly as well.

If you want to see this site continue, then you'll have to deal with the ads. That's the nature of the beast. No ads = no LGW. As an aside, the forum software that was being run here was very outdated. I purchased a license (that ad revenue at work, mindfly) for the latest version last August but was unable to a response from my host at the time. The events of Thursday morning I think will have an overall positive outcome: updates to the site that weren't completed earlier on are now getting attention, and that's good news for everyone.

Yes, you're on the right site! As a result of the hacker attack on Thursday and the restoration of the forums, I've opted for a quick upgrade to the latest version of IP.Board (3.0.5). The byproduct of this is the default skin since I've had no time to prepare a customized one to reflect LetsGoWings.com appropriately. I will be working on this intensely over the weekend! This version of the forums has been live for two minutes. Patience is a virtue.

The laptop has to go back in for a minor repair on Thursday and I *should* get it back later that day. Right now I'm targeting release of the wallpaper for Friday evening sometime. Thanks for your patience!

Ha! I didn't even think of that. Never had to until now. I know the "Orange Hat Guy" is right nearby. Heck, I've got to worry about my own mouth!
