    Detroit Anaheim Series Schedule Released

FSD will put their schedule out on Wednesday. Everything but Game 2 is fair game for them unless Versus picks up "exclusive" rights to the broadcast. Could be as many as three of those games, but we'll see.
  2. Yes. What I don't want to have posted are "hey, I found this great pic, someone with skillz should 'shop this"...
  3. The new wallpapers also feature the addition of two new screen resolutions: 1600x1200 and 1920x1200... Widescreen Formats: - 1280x800 - 1440x900 - 1680x1050 - 1920x1200 Standard Formats: - 1024x768 - 1280x1024 - 1600x1200 Enjoy!

WCQF GAME 3 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 1

Wow.... Just, wow. I hope that the AP and/or Getty got a lot of shots of that 30-sec span in the 2nd... those pictures would be a Photoshop War GOLDMINE.
  5. Another day, another addition to the LGW.com Fan Shop! The latest addition is a customizable shirt dedicated to Pavel Datsyuk's memorable eye care commercial locally. "I trust (your custom text here) to Pavel. You Should, too." The shirts are available in a variety of colors and size with more options on the way! Click here to check them out!
  6. I've made an addition to the collection of custom Red Wings fan shirts available here on this site, with the latest creating being Pavel Datsyuk 'Dangle-Dangle' shirts! The Beard is Back: LGW Official Tracker

The day of Game 1 I spent an abnormal amount of time outside (and not at my desk, where I am 99.9% of the time) and I steadfastly refused to shave my current beard the day before the game. (I shave the facial hair off right before the start of the playoffs -- last year I barely got it done before the drop of the puck of the Nashville series.) No, instead I brought the clippers and razor into the office and scheduled myself to shave it around 5:00pm as myself and 3 co-workers were going to Game 1. As it were I waited until then, shaved, had a blast at the game and came home only to look into the mirror and realize my face looked like a candy cane. Forehead was red, eyes were white (sunglasses were on), cheeks were red and where the beard previously *was* was, you guessed it -- white. Oh, joy. Thank god this thing is starting to come in again!
  8. I had hoped to put this out here prior to the start of the playoffs, but unfortunately a combination of a busy schedule and forgetfulness prevented that. However, since we've got a two day break between Games 2 and 3 of this series, I thought it was a good time to bring everyone up to speed on proper posting etiquette here on the LetsGoWings.com forums. First up, the Forum Rules/Guidelines. Click it, read them, know them and live them while you're posting here. Over the last several months the level of cursing present on the forums has increased exponentially -- certainly not within what could be termed as "use in moderation". I don't want to be anyone's mother here and come down hard on posters when they curse -- hence the fact that there, at present, is no curse filter -- because I trust that you are all mature enough to know when there's a 'proper' time for it. Some people would argue that there really isn't that 'time', but I do believe that every now and again we, as fans, need to vent. But it shouldn't be gratuitous, as it has been here lately. With that said, myself and the moderating staff will be paying special attention to the discourse of posts during this playoff run -- with special focus over the next couple of weeks. During this time posts that are deemed to have excessive use of vulgar language will be removed. And yes, that IS subjective -- so if you're not sure if your post will get removed, then don't post or tone it down to an acceptible level. If things continue to go down the road of the last few months I will have to resort to suspending posting privileges and invoking a curse filter -- something that I've long been loathe to do. --- Before this gets too long-winded, I do want to add that myself and the moderators will be taking a keen interest in the GDTs during this playoff run. As outlined in the Forum Rules, we ask that members take part in constructive discourse while discussing games. While the odd one-word post is understandable, large sections of the GDTs have become bloated down with one-word posts, short sentences that add nothing to the discussion, etc.. Remember, these are Game Discussion Threads and should be treated as such. Members looking for quality discussion on the game shouldn't have to sift through page after page of thread bloat to glean the quality posts and analysis that our other members provide. If you'd like use the forums as a chat room we have a Live Chat room that you can use as you like. As always, please refrain from personal attacks and inciting flame wars. Incidents of those will also be dealt with swiftly. Most importantly -- enjoy your time here and if you ever feel as though something has been missed by myself or a moderator, please feel free to send any of us a PM! Go Wings!

WCQF GAME 2 GDT: Red Wings 4, Blue Jackets 0

This is so full of win.

WCQF GAME 1 GDT: Blue Jackets 1 at Red Wings 4

Got back from the game a short while ago -- great atmosphere at the Joe tonight. Was very loud and my voice was completely gone just after the midway point of the game. (I think it was the repeated "MAA-SON" chants after Kronwall made it 3-1.) LOVED how they finished their checks and had the forecheck rocking tonight. Too many during the regular season I've watched them curl off of hits -- none of that tonight. Made a huge difference. 15 to go!

Round 1 Bracket Wallpaper NOW AVAILABLE!

The teams are "re-seeded" following the end of the first round.
  13. It was released in December by the studio that designed it (Torch Creative), but I have only been able to find the one that it has posted in the little slideshow on the press release itself. I'd like to have larger versions to work with (I can use those -- they're just prohibitively small) for the upcoming Playoff Bracket wallpaper... I figure that NHL.com will have them plastered everywhere once they flip the site over for the playoff version, but if there's a "clean" version of them some links to them would be fantastic. FWIW, I really like the one for he Final. I'm digging the color-neutral look. Makes it work on every sweater...

Round 1: (2) Red Wings vs. (7) Blue Jackets

Wings in 5. Columbus has to score to be able to win, and Nash isn't going to see a wink of the open ice that he did during the regular season series. A constant matchup with him on the ice with Lidstrom and Datsyuk or Zetterberg keeping an eye on him will wear him down. Mason is definitely going to be a challenge, but the fact the Columbus special teams are abysmal + the anemic offense and that's a lot to overcome.

    2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs/Final logo

Awesome! That didn't take long. If there are others out there with bigger versions or -- more importantly -- vector versions, please link to them. (.pdf, .ai or .eps versions would be amazing.)

The Beard is Back: LGW Official Tracker

I usually have a short beard going year-round, but last year right before the first playoff game against Nashville I shaved it all off.... THAT was a weird feeling. Probably the first time since high school I didn't have some kind of facial hair rocking. I'll be going clean right before the drop of the puck in Game 1 this week, too.
  17. An interesting 'shop post involving the Blue Jackets' initials in 3...2...1... (As clean as any reference to certain acts can be...) I have a feeling this thread is going to be epic.

    LGW-made Stanley Cup Playoff Wallpaper?

Hopefully soon... I'm as antsy about it as you are -- probably more. I've had a few "soft deadlines" that have been missed...

    Detroit Lions 2009 Thread

I'm a graphic designer by day and I was given the task of fleshing out what appears to be the Lions' new logo using the toy truck as a basis: Also in PDF format: http://letsgowings.com/temp/NEW_LIONS_LOGO-remake1.pdf This isn't official, of course, but I wouldn't expect the official one to deviate from this aside from some small adjustments that are lost because the original source artwork is so small.
