Really? It opens up a viewer where you press play, it plays an ad and then lets you know a pop-up window with the live feed will open in 3 seconds. Working perfect here. (Except on commercials it shows a static "we'll be right back" screen.)

It's killing me that I'm not down there. First one I've missed. Weather is about the same as the other three. Hot as hell and sunny.

All I could think of when I read the subtitle of this thread on the main topic list was: "Here's to you, Mr.-Referee-that-doesn't-blow-the-whistle-premature-on-the-Stanley-Cup-winning-goal-Guy..."

That flight plan was if they LOST Game 6. I wouldn't be surprised if they stayed overnight and left in the morning at this point.

I'm trying not to put the carriage in front of the horse here, but I wanted to get the word out about something I'd like to try out. Obviously, a lot of the fans here are from all over the country -- and all over the world -- and I'd like to, in some way, symbolize a "worldwide celebration" of sorts. So, if the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup tonight and you're in the Joe, Royal Oak, any of the area bars, in your family room or sitting in your living room in Stockholm -- take a picture (or video). Use your cellphone, whatever. Capture that moment of celebration and e-mail it to me. As long as the photos are good I'll post them up -- no male genitalia please. E-mail them from your phone to: mattschwartz@gmail.com or mattschwartz@msn.com and be sure to put "Cup Celebration" or some derivative of that as the subject. I'll try to gather them all up and post them as soon as I can. Don't forget to let me know who/where/when the photos are coming from. Hell, you can post them here if you want.

Some of these guys are so smashed -- love it! Mickey calls Draper "Chuck Norris" LMAO!

The McCarty-interviewing-Osgood bit was f'ing CLASSIC! The TiVo is going to overheat tonight, haha!

Bring water, that's for damn sure. You'll be waiting in line all afternoon to buy it. And I take the weather as a GOOD sign... For the 1997. 1998 and 2002 parades the weather was always sunny and blazing hot... Every year I was in Hart Plaza and wondering why the $%#* they couldn't at least have the fountain going... though I did get to see one idiot try to crawl up one of the poles only to fall down 2/3rd of the way up it. That made it worth it. *Knocks on wood. Throws salt over right shoulder. etc. etc.*

How is it "whining" when he answered a question? The media room was laughing at the quips coming during that portion of the press conference. Your whole argument is a weak attempt to somehow drag Babcock down to Therrien's pacifier, bonnet-wearing level and it's just not working. When has he EVER made excuses for his team? He never does that -- ever. The two GI calls didn't cost the Red Wings the game, so where exactly is the "excuse" part come into the equation. If you're going to bring an argument in the future, please come with a bit more than that.
-
I think your sarcasm-o-meter is broken. I suggest you take it in for a checkup. That was a dig at Therrien and Therrien alone and not a testament as to how he's going to treat press conferences for the duration of the series.
-
You're telling me that Babcock has whined to reporters in press conferences when his team has trailed a series 2-0 and shutout in both games this year? Huh? I wouldn't classify what Babcock said in the interview yesterday as "whining" -- he was asked a question, he answered it. Therrien would bring it up even if it wasn't asked, to the point that he was getting snickered at by those in the press. Yeah. Definitely the same thing.

Please, please, PLEASE let me shave this thing off tonight! (FWIW, no grooming of the actual beard area... just the neck gets the razor.)
-
So is it safe to say that O'Halloran's "human perception" is a bit lacking compared to that his counterparts'?
-
They planned that, you know. The Red Wings were gracious to extend the series so that it wouldn't be rainy -- which it has been the last few days. Who wants a parade with overcast skies? See, the difference here is that I'm at OCD-levels of superstitiousness at this time of year and you're clearly not at that level yet.

This is serious bad luck to post this. Didn't anyone learn from all the pre-Game 5 hysteria? Hell, even I got taken up in it. Hell, my wife grabbed a bottle of champagne and put it up against my arm as everyone in the room was locked on the TV with one minute left -- even then I brushed her off "it wasn't over". Ugh. How right I was.

Good luck!!

$7.3m/season cap hit. Book it.

Nervous? Nope. Disappointed in not winning it last night? Sure. Before the series I picked the Wings in 6 and there's no reason to deviate from that now.

It's doing better than me! I'm all hopped up on caffeine, nervous, excited, confident, etc.
-
What a game!!!
-
Damn right. Can't think of a better way to win the Stanley Cup other than in overtime. Make it happen, Red Wings!
-
Haha, absolutely. But swap out the nervousness for confidence and you'll be just fine.
