Seriously, great, slow intro, some big "POW!" moments scattered throughout for big hits, the lyrics leave it out there to show of some ridiculous highlights of Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen... and it can cap off just *perfect* at the end... provided this run finishes like we all hope. Not likely, no. I'm no doctor, but I would assume it would depend on where it is and the severity of it if this turns out to be true. If it is he'll likely be put on blood thinners immediately and that'd mean an end to the season.

Remember that this IS a rumor at this point, and according to Barry's sources the team is concerned it's a blood clot -- there's no confirmation of such yet. Although I would think if there are concerns of that that testing would be getting done quickly. We'll see. It's going to be an eventful Monday.

Just some quick points on my thoughts on this (and I'll admit I haven't read all of this thread): - Am I the only one that remember's Turco's butt-end on Darren Helm on Game 1? Helm was forechecking in that game when Turco did the. exact. same. thing. Helm actually went down on the play but I don't seem to recall him getting up and taking a two-handed swing at Turco. - What Osgood did -- sticking his arm out a bit to slow a forechecker -- happens at least a dozen times a game. He's not trying to butt-end him there. - Saying "well, Osgood started it" is inane, at best. It's no justification for what Ribeiro did. - Also, McCarty is NOT going to "go after" Ribeiro if he's not suspended (or even if he IS, when he gets back)... I don't want McCarty's out there when Ribeiro is, unless you're prone to increase the likelihood of Dallas scoring. - The best revenge is sending Dallas home early. Works for me. - Ribeiro should be gone for Game 3.

What say you? I wanted to gauge the interest (and get planned) a get-together for Saturday's Game 2 next weekend, if possible. Since it's in the evening I'm hoping we can get a decent contingent of the area LetsGoWings.com members to invade one of the metro area's fine drinking establishments. Anyone interested? Anyone want to take the reigns in helping coordinate this? This is a great opportunity to get a large number of members together and the ones that we've done in the past have been great fun.

Honestly, I think the Stars' 3rd period "surge" was more of the Red Wings sitting back than anything.

You know, maybe this is a small thing, but I noticed this immediately on the replay of the Red Wings' 3rd goal. The broadcasters made mention of that even when the Stars "win" a faceoff, Holmstrom goes in there and takes it away... Wrong. Ott didn't "win" the faceoff. Watch the replay -- it was a planned play. Zetterberg batted his blade at Ott's to make sure that puck went hard to the dasherboards and Holmstrom was gunning it to that point the whole way. Planned play. Not luck.

I saw that too -- and they can play that card if they want -- but it just makes them look like fools. Both teams are getting chances with the extra man but there's one key difference: only one team is scoring on them. Detroit's getting more opportunities because they're all over the Stars. Through 40 minutes you can't ask for a better Game 1 to this series. The Wings have attacked, attacked, ATTACKED! -- just like the bracket wallpaper quote -- and have just showed off their speed. They have won EVERY key faceoff, they're ALWAYS in front of Turco, they're backchecking like hell, Osgood has made some huge saves.... What's not to like? 20 more minutes -- keep it up! "Attack rapidly, ruthlessly, viciously, without rest, however tired and hungry you may be, the enemy will be more tired, more hungry. Keep punching."

What the hell is this, a Dallas pity party now? Filppula keeps his feet moving and gets hauled down and no call, yet the Wings get a ticky-tack one the other way? Dallas is getting plain outworked all over the ice. Call it like it is, not because Detroit's got a 3-0 lead.
