I'd be shocked, SHOCKED, if there are lineup changes for Game 4. Detroit was a shade under four minutes from taking a 3-0 lead in this series. It isn't broken, there's no need to fix it at this point. What they need to fix is MENTAL, not in personnel. Oh, and the power play needs to get a dagger to twist.
-
Oh, how a slightly lower Brad Stuart one-timer would've saved us all of the drama right now... Thanks, Brad.
-
FWIW, Hasek should've had Nashville's GTG... Didn't look like he was screened, he came out... Should've had it.

FSNHD (Comcast here) sucked all night. The audio wasn't synched up with the picture and the feed regularly froze up every few seconds... I gave up on it during the pre-game show. Checked in during the intermissions but it was still horrible.

Quoted for posterity.

1/2" away from taking a 3-0 lead in the series. Damnit.

The Red Wings have been guilty of brainfarts after Nashville gets their first goal the last two games. It was Lilja misplaying a puck in Game 2, Stuart making a horrible decision to pinch up into the neutral zone while trying to protect a 1-goal lead. Inexcusable.

I'm gonna let you guys in on a little secret.... ... Nashville has players that don't like to get hit, too. Shocking, I know!

Perhaps you should freshen up your reading skills. The original report surfaced with the Detroit Free Press that stated the Wings were very confident that Brunnstrom had (though unofficial channels) decided on Detroit. Nothing official and things can -- and do -- change. Holland clarified the report a day or two later -- this was also mentioned on this site in a seperate article, perhaps you'd like to check on that -- in saying that Detroit was still very interested in him but hadn't reached an agreement because the SEL was still in-season. ---- Anyway... This seems more like a way to trump up better bonus clauses than anything else. It's a two-team race at this point and I'll believe he's a Canuck only when he signs in Vancouver.

A nice shot from the Freep of Lidstrom's goal. Now I may have to look at the replay again (the overhead), but his feet certainly are not in the blue here.
-
Correction: He missed TWO wide-open nets this afternoon. I said it after Game 1: He's really fighting the puck. He was better with it today than he was Thursday, but he definitely needs to finish these chances.

I don't see the problem here. Just more ammunition for Monday and another reason for the Red Wings to play with a chip on their shoulder. I think that's a good thing.
-
Dumb actions? The first because he left the net to stop the dump-in? If that happens 100 more times, Dom (and virtually any other goaltender) will go behind the net to help out his defense 100 times. Was it a "bad" goal? Sure -- but it was a freak thing. I don't specifically pin that on Hasek because he's going back to help. s*** happens. As for the 2nd goal -- that was a complete brainfart by Lilja playing a bouncing puck (glove? hello!). Hasek, however SHOULD have stopped it -- it wasn't an impressive shot by Tootoo. That said -- Hasek was still incredible today, IMO. Some of the stops he made -- especially in the first period -- are the reason the Red Wings are up 2-0 in this series.

For those of you wondering who "DekeNShoot" was -- it was DetroitIan, who was banned here some time ago. He's signed up under various aliases, such as "Hank=FutureCaptain", "all_my_might" (he actually threatened me via PM with this one, lol) among others.

Have the Red Wings scored any legit goals in this series yet according to Trotz? I thought my 2-year old could whine. Trotz raised the bar.
-
Apparently you only watched the first 3 minutes of the second period.

Frankly, I don't think he's been good at all from what I've seen. He rambled badly after the Wings' game on Thursday and even slipped and said "we" when describing how Detroit plays. Uh-oh. (He did mock himself after doing that.) Howeve, he seemed like he was waiting for someone to interject when he was talking, but when no one did he just kept going, often repeating himself. Then tonight when he wasn't talking and they were showing the whole panel on screen he'd go ADD and start looking off camera and up at the lights. He's got some work to do. It was very obvious Thursday that he was nervous.
-
Any whining by the Predators is really unfounded. They "got away" with more than their fair share tonight (Zidlicky punching Draper in the back of the head? Smithson leaving his feet?). Either they call it all both ways or they don't call it at all -- and tonight they didn't.

redwinger4747 was the winner of the Buy-In league this season. Congratulations! IceMunkee was the winner of the free Yahoo league!

I'd be shocked if there were any lineup adjustments for Game. McCarty looked fine in the time that he actually did play.

Overall not a bad way to start the playoffs. There were two or three goals left there on the ice but I think they'll start finishing better after this game. Bullets: - Hasek was solid. Can't blame him one iota for the Tootoo goal. Deflected halfway there, no chance. - Franzen looked great. He's a beast on the puck and can just bull players off it when he's got that mindset. - Filppula was *really* fighting the puck. - I really hope Cleary doesn't have to keep playing with the facemask. - The top line really seemed to come on after the first period. - Power play needs to get going. That's critical.

Since this happened while I was away from my computer yesterday I didn't have a chance to act on it right away, but let this post service notice: READ the Forum Rules. Speficially, the "DOs and DON'Ts" section. There you'll see that if you post a false or misleading thread, you're banned -- permanently. The only exception to this rule is April 1st, for obvious reasons. Otherwise, that's it. If people don't understand while that rule is in place, then they're right -- there is no place for them here. This forum isn't going to become the sounding board for immature posters that wish to "freak out" other members just for kicks. I'll leave this pinned today and tomorrow and I consider that ample warning.
